OT: Well, I don't know what exactly was going down, but I enjoy Spoony's videos for what they are. He's got one of the websites I check regularly and always enjoy seeing new content. Even his bad stuff is better than most shows on the Internet, including TGWTG. I used to be a big fan in their early days, now I'm skipping most of the videos on the site. Some people's segment has become too stale for my taste.

And could it be that the parties parted ways after filming the next Anniversary Special? Should be coming to TGWTG, soon.

He also apparently broke a terms of agreement with TGWTG by revealing why he left the site (it essentially because Spoony almost destroyed his career during a past E3 convention).

Lets see, do I trust the guy thats been fired and is spewing vemnom on twitter who hasn't been well for months, but someone who's work I've enjoyed or do I trust the company that I have just learned is all about trying to go "mainstream" for ad dollars (from Amazing Atheist video, and given his tone in it I have no reason not to believe it) that write a B.S. release statement, does clearly state what homeboy did wrong, who's own employees antagonized someone who's clearly not well.

the spoony situation is a lot more personal and would likely be an even bigger breach of trust, were has extra credits was more a financial matter. but beyond that your still showing your determined to hate channel awesome side, spoony never said anything like they didn't offer help in private your making the assumption that their wasn't anything like that (despite evidence they were in private talks over something) then openly stating that's your reason for hating them, not being unsure or even skeptical, in your post you directly asserted they didn't.

I do have to wonder. Seems it was used in some argument with lupa, from what people here have been bringing up, and that argument lead to the reaction. But Maybe that is just speculation after all. I don't know much about it I admit.

I imagine it was mentioned in private, and the cause for some of the animosity after all there are some differences between it done in his reviews (were it's suppose to be a character and is usually done to show spoony, the character, as being something of a looser) and doing it on twitter were it's as him and the rape is the joke itself.

For my two cents worth, I agree with you on the second count. It's not the sole cause. However, it does seem to be a symptom, if you will, with the root cause being Lupa dragging crap out in the open and giving Noah enough rope to hang himself, knowing that in his condition he'd be more than happy to kick away the stool, metaphorically speaking.

In other words, I'm not saying Noah didn't screw himself over with his handling of the situation, but I'm not convinced that Alison is totally blameless either.

I don't hate them, I.... whats the marketing term big business likes to use? Oh yes "I dislike the direction they have decided to take their brand."

Yeah I'm assuming, what of it? It's not like I've been told otherwise by their official source. I ASSUMED Spoony was hurting their "brand", their "image" and decided they wanted ad dollars* instead of him. Seriously go back a couple pages and check out Amazing Atheist vid, it was a total eye opener to me. I always liked that website because it seemed so cool and indie to me, bunch of creative people making videos to entertain people and make a little money... yet there they were telling Amazing Atheist his style was a bit to "dark" for their ad dollars.

And this isn't about selling out. I don't hate Coke or McDonalds because clearly those are corporate juggernauts that will proudly tell you their corporate juggernauts and all they care about is money. I do hate Disney though, because they are all about money but outright lie to the children's faces that it's all about "magic and love and friendship."

There is no other logical reason I can assume they would cut ties with Spoony. It's either money or those in charge thought he was an asshole and desired to get rid of him. Either way, I'm still a fan of Spoony. I'm also a fan of Lindsay Ellis and Linkara. The people, the video producers. I'll follow those people, hopefully in a way that doesn't resort in filling the pockets of those running the site.

Also what's the problem if I decide I no longer (facebook) like their brand anymore based on my own assumptions? Even if they do come out with a statement and I'm wrong all I will have to do is eat a bit of humble pie which I'd be more then happy to do. Believe it or not I'd rather not like to think one of the websites I've been enjoying the past couple years was nothing more then some corporate hacks. (yes I'm aware how hipster that sounds)

spoony was given a choice about leaving, while I imagine that choice may have been along the lines of "calm down" or "stop ripping on your fans and fellow producers" or leave the site he wasnt' exactly booted, but I see how that might be a semantic argument, more importantly

it's less the assumptions and more throwing out accusations about them that aren't even hinted at, like the people who assumed the entirety of the incident was one tweet and spread it around like that, or just a few posts ago were some people are trying to say spoony's brother locked up his laptops. when you have an assumption and you openly state it like that it's gossip and the amount of gossip, misinformation, and in many cases downright slander that's around this incident is starting to bug me more then anything else.
