Sorry, I generally make a rule not to write forum posts in MLA format.

All kidding aside, I think there is a lot that has gone on that we can determine many things from, like tweets and statements from people who are from the TGWTG community. None of us have ever said we knew what was going on behind the public's view.

Here's a good post that sums up everything that has been put forth publically:

Some say is conspiracy, some say it's coincidence, it doesn't matter at this point, Spoony is officially off TGWTG and he's migrating his hompage to another server. From what I've seen, Anon seems to be pretty spot on.
There's been stray Twitter screencaps floating around but no-one seems bored enough to compile them yet.

Also, LordKat is supposedly in risk of being shut down because of his comments about wanting Noah to kill himself.

Joe has proven himself to be a pretty cool guy by shooting down assumptions of him never working with Noah again, saying that Noah is his friend and he thinks this "shit got ridiculous".
problem with that timeline, Channel awesome officials have stated no one complained about the tweet (in a not to them sort of way) so it either shows that even that timeline (which is trying to be accurate) is wrong or it's saying CA staff lied, not manipulated or carefully phrased to give a different impression, but that they clearly and directly made a knowingly false statement.

Anyone got any details and links for this? Because I have no idea what he is talking about, and I am rather curious to find out.
I looked it up last night you can google and probably find some answers. What it seemed to come down to was she made some comments years ago about homosexuality just being lust yada yada. Apparently though she was raised a conservative christian and has since had a reassessment of some of the opinions she once held. It basically seemed to come down to yes she said some stupid stuff but has had a change of opinion since then and would rather forget it. urgh I should probably source this....

Yes I recall reading that statement. That's a carefully worded PR statement that was made to be a public assessment that was meant to implicate no one. That's how company's do damage control as carefully as possible. No, it's technically not a lie, based on the TGWTG PR department's assessment of the situation. And their assessment is probably that every action that Noah did was by his own will and that Lupa had no direct involvement in his termination, MEANING she did not call for his firing. That is what that means. It doesn't mean her actions against Noah didn't lead up to what decided his termination, i.e. his twitter outburst.

When it comes to PR statements like these, they're about as reliable as any other source we've given you. You can't take what these statements say as cold-hard fact. I mean, don't tell me you also think that TGWTG truly believes they were "hindering" Noah when they said "We feel that with these different aims, it is better for Noah to be free to pursue his own goals unhindered by us." You have to take these things with a grain of salt when decoding PR damage control.

And this is why I find Twitter to be a horrible, horrible thing.

As for the Rape thing: there have been so many rape or implied rape jokes on TGWTG that is would be extremely hypocritical of them to fire anyone for it (I believe there was even a 'rape horn' used by Phelous is some of his videos. Oh wait the clip is right here [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhYtHNsPxGs].) ... Yeah.

The best thing for Spoony would be to take a break for a while and get the treatment he needs. Perhaps he could return to TGWTG in the future, but for now, Noah needs to get his head on straight as said by his idol (as posted earlier). Best of luck to them, and +1,000,000 for Linkara for trying to settle this whole thing.

I did. And I bet they're right. Lupa never complained. To the executives at Channel Awesome. She probably never asked the people at Channel Awesome to fire or do anything about Noah.

Instead, she wrote an multiparagraphed essay on why Spoony is a horrible person for saying a rape joke to one of his coworkers. A month after he already apologized.

See? No direct complaining for Noah's termination.

Why should she complain? Spoonys twitter breakdown that she more or less helped trigger spoke for itselfe. Actually asking for him to get fired would rather be counterproductive if she wanted to get him off the team if you think about it.

there's been drama between contributors that never prompted executive action, and yes PR statements leave a lot of wiggle room, but frankly the level of manipulation your talking about is ridiculous, if they said not responsible then maybe, but saying she was in now way involved no, that moves it from careful PR to blatant lying, which I have no reason to believe they stooped that low.

Channel Awesome also stated that they and Noah had a talk and eventually decided to part ways, while Noah says that they fired him.
It's all damage control to make this mess look better. They can claim whatever they want because we can't prove otherwise and are forced to take their word for it.

By claiming that no-one complained about the tweet, they are attempting to take the heat of the people who publicly voiced an opinion about it being offensive, effectively taking any possible blame off said people.
In short: they're trying to get people off (primarily) Allison's back.

So yes. I do, in fact, believe that they're lying.
I still think there was ample reason to fire Noah, but I am not buying a word they say.

Heh, this is Public Relations damage control. This isn't stooping low at all.

Also, never has any contributor drama ended in such an explosion. I think Noah's averaged a 50 tweets per day record by now. It's really quite sad.

I don't enjoy involving myself in the internet politics of people I've never had any contact with, so I haven't picked sides here. All I will say is that both Spoony and Channel Awesome's members are being horribly unprofessional about this entire ordeal.

When you want to consider yourselves professionals, you don't go and get into public shit throwing contests across Twitter. But I know exactly why they did it. This entire shitstorm could have been done behind closed doors and we would know nothing about it, but by making it public, teh internetz drama equals massive numbers flocking to their sites to rage and defend, equaling more ad revenue.

This entire thing could have been quietly disputed, but both parties are using the rage of the fans to their advantage.

In a tweet he made, I mentioned that Pathfinder was either on hold or dead since "most of the people involved no longer wish to associate with me".
Must of missed that somewhere in this whole saga. I don't follow twitter myself so I wasn't aware of that. Man, I liked the Pathfinder sessions. Still, counter monkey will probably still run, unless he has run out of stories to tell.

Another thing, if my memory serves me correctly. The incident with LordKat losing an interview, wasn't that at last years E3? I'm pretty sure the 'BETRAYAL' thing happened when the X-COM shooter was announced last year, so it's pretty old news. I don't see how this directly affects what has happened in the last few days.

Unless I'm getting my wires crossed and nobody is saying it is, just using it as an example of why LordKat has beef with Spoony. But I've seen it brought up a few times here and other places.

With any luck, he already had the rest of his E3 stuff and Ultima IX part 2 already edited and ready to go before this happened. I'm not sure I'd want to watch Spoony as he is right now.
Yeah, I think he needs to just take a two or even three month leave of absence. This isn't something to just bounce right back from.

I dunno about what LordKat has against Noah, but the "BETRAYAL" thing happened two years ago at E3 2010. And no one has been able to clarify to me how that somehow directly effected Jason's chances at his "career changing" interview. It's utterly stupid.

But yeah, I'm with ya. I'm gonna miss Pathfinder as well. I would listen to the group's shenanigans while I would work. It's sad... :'(

What like a pro-wrestling angle?

I doubt it dude. Something like that takes a great deal of work to pull off and make seem legit.

just google the whole Russo/Hogan/Bischoff thing from WCW years ago, and that WAS pro-wrestling

No, I'm not saying the entire thing was staged, only that by stirring up the controversy around Spoony's departure, both Spoony's site and Channel Awesome get a massive influx of angry people. If it was quiet, things would go as normal, but by keeping all the bitching public, more people become aware of it and more people go to their sites.

I could see that working in Spoony's favor. But last I checked his twitter, someone asked him if he was going to make a vid about what happened and he merely responded: "No."

CA really doesn't get much out of this aside from turning a sizeable chunk of their fanbase against them.

See? No direct complaining for Noah's termination.
there's been drama between contributors that never prompted executive action, and yes PR statements leave a lot of wiggle room, but frankly the level of manipulation your talking about is ridiculous, if they said not responsible then maybe, but saying she was in now way involved no, that moves it from careful PR to blatant lying, which I have no reason to believe they stooped that low.
If they're all about money, why wouldn't they? It's not like companies haven't lied to the public before.

Hell thats all Tobacco companies ever did.
