Haven't read the whole thread - but just realize that there is a shitload of good and bad villain ideas [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Batman_enemies] for the next three, of the famous/popular ones, I expect Riddler and Catwoman (if she counts as a villain).

I say they really push their luck and do "Orca" - ok nevermind.

what I want to know is if Joker will be in any of the new ones - which I doubt.

You can't have Harley Quinn w/o the Joker. It's just not as interesting without her unrequited puppy-dog-love devotion to "Mister J." I think they could eventually do it, I just don't think Nolan and his crew would want to. Especially not in the third installment (which'll probably work someway into wrapping it up).

Reading from the wikipedia entry on Batman's rogues gallery, I have to say, the two I'm most interested in are Deacon Blackfire and Wrath. Blackfire highlights something about Gotham, and Wrath has a great backstory w/ Gordon.

I think it will be catwoman. Given that the movie is about a character developent of batman and well romance and all is important. Also I think the bird will be there but as a minor villian (he is just an arms dealer to most). What I wanna see as a villian is riddler... and not Jim Carry

Obviously you guys are not thinking outside the box as clearly Sub Zero will be beating up Batman next.

Yay First post..... (i realize the noobyness of saying that but hey you are only a noob once, or twice or thrice or how many ever forums you join)

Anyway.....

I want to start up by saying Angelina Jolie has already been chosen to play Catwoman in the next film but also i have read that catwoman has been ruled out as being the main bad guy so yes shes in it but not the main bad guy. By what else i have read I have to assume that the bad guy will be the riddler but that is not confirmed yet.

I dont see Mr Freeze or Poison ivy as possible bad guys because i see from the last two they are more going for the dark image and not the science fiction angle which those two characters will present. Nolan has stated that he does not want to do Penguin because he can not see a decent way to portray him.

Well thats all my Batman Knowledge, i dont know how much of it has been said because 3 pages was to much for me to be bothered to read. I can say i see a lot of potential for the Riddler but if they make him like a Joker the lose him, but i love how the last two villains have been portrayed so why wont this one be awesome as well.

The first two movies both had two villains, a minor and a Major, Liam Neesons char as the Minor and Scarecrow as Major in the first. Then Joker and Dent in the second right.
Ergo it stands to reason that they will do it for the 3rd. I'd like to see a very dark and evil riddle incarnation, but that'd be too much liek the seond movie and I don't think Nolan is one for using the same formular over and over again. So I'm going to have to put my vote on the Penguin, I really liked the Penguin in Batman Returns, scared me half to death when I was a child.

Any who, the mob has, to my understanding been largely whiped out or at least put away during this second movie which will leave a vacumn that someone such as the Penguin could fill, being intorduced as a mobster type criminal in the comics.

Also, though I dismissed it out of hand when my mate suggested it, we never saw Rachels body, you can fill the rest in yourselves.

Harvey Dent shouldn't have died in this one, instead, he should've become two-face at the end. Hell, the hospital scene could've been the end, if placed later in the movie.

Seeing all those little cult followers in the beginning of the movie would leave it for Robin to join the scene for the next one. A good villain? Bring in Schwartz... You know what? I don't know why I tried to spell his name. But him for Mr. Freeze, all tribute-like.

Now I've had time to read through the whole thread I realise I have said some thigns that have been said, I also like the Idea Bane letting out all the Arkham inmates, I can imagine that would be a good way to get the plot round to him being needed and liked by the population of Gotham again

I'm not entirely sure Two-Face will stay dead, due to Heath Ledger's unfortunate death. It wouldn't surprise me if he came back for the next film (two face that is.)

Two-Face possibly survived.Remember when that guy said that "you can't die from this height" in the earlier part of the movie?
Catwomen is also hinted in with the line "You should do fine against cats.".

Also it wouldn't be THAT hard to do Penguin. He's a Gentelman Gangster.Unlike crazy psychopath Joker, he an intelligent sophisticated mobster.More of an aristocrat.

Imagine an Al Capone of Gotham City, add some tweaks and voilà - There's your Penguin.

Haha, your predictions shall come to pass in the new DC vs. Mortal Kombat game, soon to be made into feature film with Christopher Walken as Sub-Zero.

I've heard a rumor that the riddler has a high chance of making it into the next film and Johnny Depp was suggested as a possible candidate for the role.

Any thoughts on this?

I for one, think that he'd be able to pull it off. He's one for the more unusual roles...

Well, I thought he died. Even if he didn't die, he'd be in jail big time for what he did to Gordon's family.
No, because that would mean all the mobsters he put in jail would be released, which Gordon and Batman did not want to happen. That's why Batman framed himself; to aquite Harvey.

I just saw the animated Batman film (name escapes me) that bridges from Batman Begins to The Dark Knight, and in that one they show a possible origin for Killer Croc; a guy with keritosis, who filed his teeth to make a better show of himself in his career in a circus sideshow, who came under Dr. Crane's control. He'd make for a great minor villain or minion in the next one.

The stories in that film are pretty good, 6 of them between 10 and 15 minutes in length, kinda like how the Animatrix was done, showing mainly the gang war between Moroni's crime family and the Russian mafia as well as Lt. Gordon's success with the Major Crimes Unit. The voice casting was great (Kevin Conroy returns as Bruce/Batsy, Rob (Pinky) Paulsen as Moroni, David McCallum as Alfred) but I can't say I liked the animation styles of some of the segments; too japanime for me, especially with Bruce Wayne being shown in some as a stereotypical spiky-haired androgyn.

Still though it was quite symbolic that he would turn his head to the 'good' side then give this big speak about he was the hero and Batman had to take the blame. Plus Gordon speaking at his funeral kind of acting as a summation of his participation in the series. I think it'd be a cheap gimmick if they brought him back after that kind of an end-cap.

people people people, A) we're not actually sure Harvey is in fact dead, he looked more unconscious, and even though you didnt see him move, it doesnt mean he's dead, also, they could use joker for the next movie, and the only problem would be the casting.
And lastly, for future villains? Killer Croc, Hush, Clayface, Rahs Al Ghul, he has the lazarus pit for christssake, and then, there is always a superman/batman tie in, with superman going rogue or something, there could be lots of options for Nolen yet.
And also, he wouldnt be in jail, he'd be in arkham, so there.
And there really are shit loads of batman villains, if you look up batman ok wikipedia, then go on his list of villains and then go on his rogues list? thats one damn fine collection.

Black Mask and Riddler would be good- Mask would go after Wayne and Riddler might end up being some crazed detective that hunts down the Bat.

Well i thought the memorial service seemed fairly final, unless of course they just faked his death and are keeping him out of sight somewhere. which seems a tad improbable. Speaking of improbable- Clayface? how is that going to fit in with the realism? Killer croc is iffy too, and the lazarus pits.
Bane? weeelll... i dunno. Read Knightfall when i was about 12 (im 24 now) so my recollection of him is hazy. i think the point of him was a character that challenged batman on a physical and mental level- most villains its one or t'other.
Superman better keep away from Batman. Thats all ill say.

Quoting the guy we need: I'm Bane! I break people!

Really, they need to come up with something good because it really feels as if they have played out all their cards using the joker in the second one. Or maybe Nolan can do the smart thing for him and bow out from the franchise on top. That would suck but would be understandable.

IMHO, Bane is the way to go, the problem, would have to be the casting, though. Really, who CAN play Bane?
Chuck Norris.

Personally i don't like the idea of having Depp play the riddler. I've always been a champion of having Paul Bettany take up this part. Personally i think he would play it perfectly.
