Ooh, that was a close one. Those hooves can make a pretty ugly mess, you know.

...Wait! We´re enemies? I thought we were friends. And I even stayed up all night to make these heart-shaped (in a totally manly way) cookies for you *sob*

By the way, it was the "memorable escapists (or something like that)" thread, wasn´t it.
Well....Frienemies (Rivals). I thought we would do another clash of titans like "If the Escapist was a city..." thread. Our duel would be filled of rock solos, infernal robots and a caramelldansen dance off.

We're like the Angry Video Game nerd and the Nostalgia Critic (Internet reference).

Note and threat*If those cookies are not chocolate chips, then AND ONLY THEN, I'll declare you my worst nightmare.

Yeah, it's because of Iron Ninja and the memorable escapists...I hate those threads, my biggest record of mentions is 5....

Caramelldansen...Oih! Why did you remind me?
But yeah, we battled until the heart of the sunrise (meh, doesn´t really work, but it has guitars). And look, I even brought my Hell machine from Hell, because I´m such a sentimental fool.

And yes, the cookies indeed have (manly) chocolate chips. Happy now?

EDIT: One more thing: Now that you mentioned it, I have actually been enjoying NC quite a lot past few days. He´s such a trip.

Same here. I also admire James (AVGN). He has so much passion in cinema.

Alliance note* Alright!!! Let's share these while we go on our crusade against trolls and unicorns.

It's funny, everyone who knew me as I once was is now either a Mod or banned. So I guess my memories are kinda just stories now.

There were dragons, a tank-motorcycle and a gun with 142 barrels.

I do remember your epicness. You're still epic in my eyes. I'm still confused after that picture. You know? The one that made me question your gender in the Escapist australian reunion.

Male or Female, you're still awesome.

Was there horses and a man on fire and you killed a guy with a trident?

I have almost nothing to say about Escapist History, in my mind, it goes:

I registered.
Stuff happened.

Eh. I don't really know.

I've been around for a lot. Said a lot of things. Been involved in a lot of stuff. At the end of the day, I fail to take much notice though.

I suppose the secret underground rebellion movement was something you could put in there. We had alot of famous members, but when the situation sorted itself out, we didn't have to take any action. Still, it's something to talk about with Cory every now and again I suppose.

I just realised that none of you will understand that. Oh well.

Also, why does my RP never get any credit? It's seventy freaking pages long. ZAS was big too. I never compared pages sizes. I demand you nimrods, oh yeah that's right, nimrods, atleast mention the RP Section.

There was also the stupid amount of schemes I hatched to try and save the RP Section. Long story short, they all failed.

[small]Maybe I've done more than I thought I'd done. I demand a hug.[/small]

By the way, when, yes when, I'm banned, I demand I am made a mod. I don't see why this nimrod gets special treatment.

[small]Help. I can't stop saying nimrod. Please. HELP.

By the way. You're not a nimrod. I don't really even know what a nimrod is.

You're a big doody face though. How redundant would you rate this post out of ten?[/small]

I share your confusion, though I get the feeling he's Max's predecessor.

I can't give anything really significant, but Evil Jak's memorable Escapist thread was a pretty big deal, especially since a goatse.cx troll showed up. Then again, I'm probably magnifying things since that thread was kinda when I attained any sort of significance here.
Also, the "best thing to hit the internet" thread that devolved into a flamewar and later turned into a potluck (don't search, it's deleted). Ask Suiseisuki IRL for details, she was more involved than I was.

Oh, and could anyone tell me about the /b/ raid that people keep mentioning? I don't think I entirely noticed it.

I killed him, stomped on his face and carved the beating Epic from his chest and locked it away in a vault for all time, just to spite you all.

And there's nothing you can do about it. WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Ah. Finally, something where I can, at least somewhat, contribute. Perhaps, 'tis rusty memory and faulty machinery speaking, but as far as I know, I remember most people who I have met and interacted with. In fact, most of the people on my friend's list. But, it's not about the people we are talking about here, is it? A damn shame, so to say.

Still. Allow me to move on and speak of actual topics.

For one, I remember the Planetside war effort. Probably the most fun I've had in ages, even though I was dying left and right. I do remember a few good men from there. From NewClassic correcting me about the "Ride of the Valkyries", to Singing Gremlin piloting mosquitoes, Vanguard1219 the mighty sniper, Docan and the sailing ship and so many others, fighting for the cause. Such great times.

I remember a great many threads by a person you may know called RAKtheUndead. He's always been a quality poster and he's truly a wealth of theoretical knowledge. Just some of his works can be found here: here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.129006], here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.119445#2316171] and here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.100198].

I remember NewClassic's writing theory, in addition to Scotth266, both of which can be found here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.111856] and here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.120165].

Hm. I'd best cut off here to explain why the rest of my specific memories are not mentioned and that's simply because there are so many. Hundreds. Thousands. I have scouted many threads and lurked many-a-day and I have seen both the highs and the lows. Still, there are just too many. Much too many. I will not mention banned members because of the same reason, no matter how deserving of a mention they are.

There were so many things that happened, so many changes from the day I came here to today. And there have been so many memories. But, perhaps, the most vivid of all is still Dalek Sec and the first contact I made with a real member of the Escapist. He's a very friendly fellow and I do appreciate his contact very much.

Perhaps some of you would like to hear a tale of Combined's own exodus towards... here. Well, that is a long story I had best use some other time. All I can say about the community is that I've tried to be as nice as I possibly can be.

Ah, but time is an ever-changing system of webs and tubes. Those who were before us have decayed, those who will be after us have not yet appeared. It may be slow, but eventually all that inhabit here today will go, leaving but trails of accomplishment in the dust. Some, I'm sure, will be cast in stone and remembered for many days, such as the fabled NewClassic, but most of us, including myself, will be forgotten. As uneasy prospect as that is.

Still, let's all do our best to make this a nice place. I do my part, you do yours.
Dismissed, Citizen!

let's see history of the escapist. Hell if I know, it's not like I've been here for a while. I spend my time on live talking to orannis and NoMoreSanity(you know, those members of the escapist). Maybe the time I won $500 should be mentioned because I like winning money and me.

also, I miss necro, despite felling more or less responsible for his actual banning.

I haven't really been around long enough to be able to say anything specifically memorable about these forums, but I'll offer my two cents from what I know and what I have looked up.

I remember not being that good a poster when I first joined. It took me a while to die down on some views and also to learn to make good threads. But I think I've got it quite sorted out now on what to do/ not do.

Possibly the first memorable thing I remember from my time here was Darth Mobius' Post Election Shenanigans: The President Resigns in Shame thread (now 404'd). I would go into more detail about it, but I'm not sure how rule-safe that would be to do so. I'll give more detail in PMs but I won't post any more.

Following that, I guess the next one in the list would be TheNecroswanson's banning (whilst I never really communicated with him, I knew of his existence), which I specifically remember for Scotth266 making a thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.120751?page=1] following that which requested that the moderators give more information and detail about why a certain user was banned. And following that we eventually ended up getting three new mods who have certainly managed to increase the detail about why users were banned/ threads locked etc.

I also remember a short phase where people were demanding a minimum post count before people were allowed to make threads (something I'm glad wasn't put through), and I probably remember a lot of stuff only I or very few other people would remember.

Users come, good and bad, and users go as well. Guess I'll have my memories of this place some day and until then I'll just take it as it comes.

Well I don't know much about the great threads around here. I remeber the Forum Games and Rps. I remeber the Lightsaber tribute. I remeber the whole NoMoreSanity fiasco (Of course that was only a few months ago) I remeber the introduction of Unskippable and Doomsday Arcade and I remeber the launch of Genre Wars and User Groups.

Good times...good times.

I am neither banned nor a mod. I remember you attacking the Escapist at the head of the 4chan swarm and then switching sides at the last minute. I remember you wielding the Remmahnab, the Black Banhammer. I remember when you pulled someone's internal organs out through their face.

And I am still here.

And I am watching you.

I knew about the site for ages, and regularly visited and read the forums before I finally got an account a couple of months ago. I suppose if I've contributed anything to this site so far it would be my apparently shared love of British comedy (As is made VERY apperent by my username).

And while I was new at the time, I still remember the Almightyjoe...

The greatest moment in the forums were easily two things: the original Escapist Election and the infamous 'Wilson' thread.

Where else could you see an epic duel to the death between the Mods?

I miss Necroswanson and a couple of the others that got banned. Aye, sad when a big personality or frequent contributor gets booted.

Still equal rights for all, and all that right?

Come now Almightyjoe, I don't think that you give us enough credit.

Some of the things that stick out for me would be GEMS and the wacky stuff that went down when he was around. I had the pleasure of meeting him in person, nice fellow. I was a member of TERP and somehow managed to save The President but not before cooking some crabs. I survived to the end of Purp's Cyber Punk RP with my private eye, Jack Dupain. I remember taking part in two of the Blades of Retribution games and the attempt to take Mobius' Star Destroyer. I missed out on the first Zombie RP and Warhammer 40 000 RP, of which I am very saddened. There where the 4chan wars in which I fought and the election in which I voted and there have also been a few failed RPs.

I remember when pretty much every 'old' escapist started posting. A lot of them at any rate. I remember being surprised at the new ZP intro, gladdened why UR made it's way here. I remember when Gone Gonzo was achieved after a week which caused quite a shock. I remember Joe, of course, and his passing.

There is a lot of stuff, kind of floating around in my brain, so I can't really pick out the entire history. Dates and timelines are bit beyond me and I can't remember that much without having something provoking that memory. A lot of things have happened in the past, what will nearly be, two years.
