In regards to number 4: I didn't hear it anywhere, I know it. As more people become or experience (or even just see) gaming and realize that its not a mass murder simulator, they will be less quick to blame stuff on games. Ignorance tends to be what makes people blame games (that and stupidity, but that can't be fixed) so exposing people to games will help to correct this problem. The wii is marketed to non-gamers and thus exposes these people to gaming. Therefor, the Wii is helping to dispel the bad stereotypes surrounding gameing. Not to mention that the wii's cutsy games act as a good counter to the idea that all games are couter-strike and halo.
That makes sense to me, but... Why market a game to non-gamers? I assume that you mean there trying to get more people to game.

The whole problem with the wii is that it has been lacking in good exclusive titles. Major nintendo titles like Mario and Zelda are fine and well, but it's been a long time since Twilight Princess and Galaxy. Nintendo is working on new ones but who knows how long it will take for them to put out good titles?

Third party developers have also been avoiding the wii. Instead, they make shit like imagine babiez and movie tie ins to cash in on stupid kids.

Controls, graphics, crazy peripherals don't matter. It's like complaining about your fork and spoon being to small, when you should be worrying about the lack of food on your plate.

I've been a wii owner since summer 2007, and I haven't brought a game for it since the Smash Bros. I'm starving. (metaphorically)

It's a new and novel way of playing.

Well I say knew, it's been around since the powerglove for the original NES, I can't remember anything before then.

The Wii has a lot of excellent games. This is the only point worth making because the single most important factor when looking at a gaming console is its games library.

This is obviously highly subjective. However, I posit that anybody who says the Wii totally lacks good games or only has "a few" is either talking out of their ass or hasn't actually looked. Of course, there's the possibility that what these people really mean is "There's hardly any games on it that I like", but if that were the case they'd instead say "There's no games on it that I like", not "There's no/hardly any good games". Remember kids, the world doesn't revolve around you; just because something doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean it's of poor quality. Acting as though "I don't like X" and "X is crap" mean the same thing is presumptuous, arrogant and ignorant.

I would also be amiss in neglecting to mention the Wii's backwards compatibility, between the Wii's primary titles, full Gamecube functionality and Virtual Console, I am well and truly spoilt for choice when looking for games to play on my Wii.

So I challenge you, how many positive remarks can you make about the Wii without lying to yourself. Try it, it's harder then you'd think.
It has plenty of good games such as No More Heroes, de Blob, Okami, SSBB, Little Kings Story, Madworld and Boom Blox, to name a tiny handful, that are great fun to play alone or with friends.

Not that hard, really.

I am really, really disapointed with my wii. I was expecting great FPSs to be developed and played on it, but no. all I see stocked on the shelves are corny, childish games, one half being mildly fun, and half of them are sponsored by TV shows like 'are you smarter than a 5th grader?' and 'Hannah Montana'

I will gladly trade my wii for a 360.

Yeah if that were a reasonable trade I bet. Try not to look at it like that though. Look at the Virtual Console aspect, that's just bad ass.

I agree with you about the titles, though. I have like fifteen - twenty bad ass Gamecube Gems, and like two Wii games. Nintendo has made it very clear that they don't give a fuck about the games they push... it's all about the peripherals. Which unfortunately That's not what I'm in it for. Ut never appealed to me. So they can keep all of that.

The wii wasn't specifically built to play FPSs it was built by nintendo who cater for a younger and more family friendly crowd, which you rarely get with FPSs. I have a Wii and a 360, if I want to play some younger games, or some silly jrpg's that I still enjoy i'll pick up my Wii, but if I want to ply something more mature guess what i'll pop Mass Effect into?

All in all it's a great console, it just that people pick it up expecting everything to be as gritty, serious, and in five shades of brown like every other game is these days. It's Nintendo you silly gooses! Nintendo made Pokemon and you expect some FPS on your Wii! I can play all my favourite games that I loved back in the day on nintendo for a small fee and still have as much fun as I did, I get bored, I just switch to the browser and surf the web, then switch to some news, check out whats goin' on, then get off and read a book or something (You know those things with pages that you turn)

Now if you excuse me, i'm off to play some Paper Mario on my Wii

Well... I like the Wii well enough. The stuff made by Nintendo usually turns out to be pretty damn good, but in all honesty it's all about the Virtual Console for me. I just love retro games (especially the NES and SNES era) so I really can't ask for more on that front...

Super Smash Bros Brawl is a lot of fun.
Metroid Prime 3 is amazing.
There are tons of classic games available on the Virtual Console.
Super Mario Galaxy is great.
Wii Fit can be fun.
It's great for parties.
It has backwards compatability with every Gamecube game, unlike the XBox's and PS3's limited backwards abilities.
Because of lack of any real intense online play, and lack of any real communication when there is some, the word "******" is cheerfully absent from Wii Internet Dialect!

It's not that hard to give the Wii credit where credit is due.

I was so tempted just to come in and respond to the title by saying
"No it isn't"
Okay you guys have madworld which looks brilliant and that is probably the only reason I can think of

You're right, that was rude of me. The Wii is the only console I have. I kind of did this as a way to get a few jokes out of it, and find some useful things to do with it.
1. Virtual Console

2. No More Heroes

3. Metroid Prime 3
