Well, after like 3 or 4 beers, the wii games are actually pretty fun. No thinking just button mashing with friends on brawl. Sheesh you try playing COD4/5 when you're loaded... I was like a slow motion bullet magnet...
Sounds like you just justified people paying hundreds of pounds/dollars for a console, to get drunk and play games.
Except you didn't. Try playing The Conduit, MadWorld, No More Heroes, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Resident Evil 4, and a host of other games while you're drunk. It's no fun. I've tried it. Consequently, I've played CoD 4 while drunk on the 360, and I was amazing in comparison to how I am on the 360 while sober (terrible, I'm a PC/Wii gamer when it comes to shooters).
That was kind of aimed at you, and people who say the 'buying a Wii is mainly good for playing games when drunk', which just grinds my shit to a fine powder, especially when afterwards they complain about it collecting dust.

The whole problem with the wii is that it has been lacking in good exclusive titles. Major nintendo titles like Mario and Zelda are fine and well, but it's been a long time since Twilight Princess and Galaxy. Nintendo is working on new ones but who knows how long it will take for them to put out good titles?
Third party developers have also been avoiding the wii. Instead, they make shit like imagine babiez and movie tie ins to cash in on stupid kids.
Controls, graphics, crazy peripherals don't matter. It's like complaining about your fork and spoon being to small, when you should be worrying about the lack of food on your plate.
I've been a wii owner since summer 2007, and I haven't brought a game for it since the Smash Bros. I'm starving. (metaphorically)
I liked that, good metaphor. IMHO, the Wii has enough great titles, but perhaps not as many 'core' titles as other consoles. Hell if you were to get an avid Wii gamer to stack up how many titles they consider to be good to a PS360 owner, it would be fairly similar IMO. But obviously the problem is appeal. I can understand certain games lacking appeal, but I can't understand when people say the Wii lacks good exclusive titles, there are plenty, and I'll go as far to say that the Wii has around the same amount of core exclusives as the other consoles.

Alright, anyone else in here getting a bit psyched about No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle? There's a reason to buy the Wii. It seems to be fixing most, if not all, the minor little flaws in NMH1.
Sorry for the mostly irrelevant post. It had to be said.
When Travis said "this isn't a battle any more...it's a
mother fucking WAR!", I had to squeal like a little girl who just got a pony for christmas. That game is going to be so amazing, too many good games coming out for 2010 across all platforms, but Q1 2010 is going to be a clusterfuck.
