The date's are 7-8 years ahead of the original Bioshock. I don't think it's gonna be a prequel.coyotepack said:

Anyway, I think we should just wait and see. I don't know why people continue trying to unravel mysteries that are as of yet ununravelable. Things like the G-Man, and this web site are just...Bleh. I'd rather just wait and see what happens, personally...
It would be pretty tough to screw up Bioshock. That's the one franchise that could release basically the same game again and we would all still have a lot more fun with it than any other game out there.

This is my own opinion, the skinny tall creatures nabbing the kids are Big Daddies without their huge underwater submarine geddups. They never told us in the first Bioshock but I think that the Daddies are made from normal guys but they were altered and brainwashed or something like the stalkers in Half Life 2. They don't need their suits cause they're on land. The red light on their heads are some kinda robotic eye implant? The red lights in the ocean is their mode of transportation, probably like a bathysphere.
I think they're kidnapping girls because they were brainwashed/taught that they need to protect a little sister all the time. Since Jack freed/harvested all the little sisters in Rapture, the Big Daddies have to go to the surface to satisfy the urges that the scientists of Rapture have carved into their psyche.

Well Which Ending did they say was Cannon?, what all this Means is something Different depending Upon Which side of the Coin it Landed
if its the Good Ending, maybe someone has rebuilt Rapture, or at some point, someone treid to Establish a Second one Based off the first cause 'there sure they can do it right this time'
if its the Evil Ending, who is to say jack was Content with the ADAM he stole from the First set of little sisters, and is now after he is Sure he got all of Them(i would say the Amount you Actually Saved was not all of them, there may have been More then that and there just not Anywhere near where you were, i mean the city itself looks rather large, and there's parts you cant get too) and as was stated Earlier someones gone looking for there daughter, or Perhaps this time your Tennenbaum going back to stop jack from harming any more people

as for someone else finding the city, what are the odds that someone from the surface found it, really? it's not like jack had any buddies surviving his little plane crash.

part of me doesn't want anything to do with this thread so i don't ruin the game, but the other part is obsessively checking it to make sure i don't miss anything new!

i like the part about the big daddies without their suits (what i never quite understood was how something called "rosie" was a big "daddy"). however, i've always been under the impression that they're not men at all, but something more akin to a robot (hence the light colour changes according to mood and weird roar). probably a lot of spare scuba equipment in an abandoned underwater city like rapture.Dupeo said:

the only snaffoo in that is, how would a big daddy get the kidnapped little girl back to rapture without her drowning? thus the submarines.
--could this be a submarine-assisted big daddy and splicer shakedown? i like that theory. the red lights wouldn't have to be any sort of "miner's helmet" or whatever else. they're probably just the lights on the enraged big daddy.

I believe the X's are where the red lights were spotted. The one in the middle being where the cruise ship was.
I, personally, thought that Bioshock was not very original (although that's because I played System Shock 2, and held resentments against Bioshock with the whole "Invisible War" treatment of the SS2 mechanics), but in an unrelated subject, how could you think that Halo 3 and Gears of War were the worst games on the 360 when there are such atrocities as Bullet Witch, Bomberman: Act Zero, and 99 Nights on it?andrewbrownster said:
