The setting mostly. I never really liked nords so skyrim isn't exactly high on my places-to-see-before-I-die list. And unlike most problems listed here you can't just change it with a small mod.
I'm not gonna buy it right away anyway though. I don't have the time for it right now and there's guaranteed to be a GOTY edition with all DLC and expansions soon enough.

I was slightly disappointed with the rag doll physics from the preview videos, I don't know, they just don't sit right with me, I guess I'll find out come the 11th.
This. The ragdoll physics in Oblivion and Fallout 3 were just as terrible. I'd almost prefer a dozen or so canned animations for dying to god awful rag dolls.

The main thing that's worrying me at the moment is that my final exam is on the 12th of November...

The fact that they removed athletics, although that means more horse riding for me I guess.

In Oblivion, I was able to have a sword, shield, and spell available at all times. We gain wielding, but it looks like that ability has fallen from the wayside. Depending on how to do quick selections it might not be that bad. If, with a single button press, I can switch from spell and shield to sword and shield, then it would be awesome. What I really hope for is that you'll be able to double bind. Pressing 1 equips your left hand with something, and holding down 1 equips your right hand with something.

The combat seems dull as ditchwater and the animation is crummy. Basically like Fallout 3. Also, NPCs still do that bloody face-zoom eye-contact thing.

On the upside, the environments look nice and the dragons look cool.
Opinions not measured, the npc's totally don't do the face-zoom anymore. I thought people had been aware of that since e3.

god-awful UI - I haven't used it yet, have you?
Regenerating health - Which is different from me waiting an hour in oblivion to get it all back, how?
Animations still crap - While I think the 'third-person' button should just be taken out, the npcs have far better animations based on the demos displayed.
Combat still crap - Have you used it?
dumbed down - or made less pointlessly complicated.

That UI looks slick, but it is going to make inventory management even more painful than it was in Oblivion. I only hope that it will be somewhat customisable so there will be a MTUI or DUI equivalent

Does anyone know if spells and weapons will be hot keyable in the PC version

Also, IMHO, and just going from the videos, the landscape textures don't look any better than Oblivion with a decent medium resolution texture pack (default Oblivion textures are low resolution)

All in all, I think the interface is going to make me rage quit after half an hour.

EDIT: terrible spelling

"I haven't used it yet, have you?" - then how do you know it's not crap???.

"far better animations" - that doesn't mean it looks good.

"pointlessly complicated" - I don't understand?? When have elder scrolls games been pointlessly complicated? ""Perhaps"" in the days of Arena and Daggerfall, but neither Morrowind nor Oblivion are pointlessly complicated.

What worries me is whether to buy this, Arkham City or Saints Row 3...

Also repetative dragons.

I never claimed it wasn't. Simply pointed out that you couldn't know.
"far better animations" - that doesn't mean it looks good.
Check my quote. Wasn't talking about the characters 'looking good' was talking about their movement.
"pointlessly complicated" - I don't understand?? When have elder scrolls games been pointlessly complicated? ""Perhaps"" in the days of Arena and Daggerfall, but neither Morrowind nor Oblivion are pointlessly complicated.
Let me make it a bit easier to understand. What did they remove? Why were those things needed in any way?

I'm worried that I'm going to lose sight of my goal like I did in Oblivion and in Fallout 3 because the main quests are all of like 2 hours long, and the other 99% of the game is completely worthless side-quests.
Do you ever think that maybe if you find 99 percent of the game worthless it may not be a series of games for you? I take it you like your games linear?

it's only 6GB, and believe it or not some people are complaining about that
I didn't know that. It's funny to think a short game like Ghostbusters is over 10GB by comparison as per my Halloween Steam Sale download.

The reality is that this fact means nothing, but it does give you the impression that the world might be more basic and simplified than people want.

Im just worried that i will shame myself in front of the cute girl who works in EB. I mean, she has already seen my reactions to such titles as Dark Souls and Shogun 2. But what will she think when i ejaculate as she hands me a copy of Skyrim?
