League of Legends and all games of the moba genre really but League of Legends seems to be the worst offender.
I agree. The community in that game made me not want to bother with any of the Cata content past level 80. People just seemed to develop very hostile attitudes towards each other. It was considered an insult to have started playing the game during Wrath, group with people outside of the guild to run a raid or dungeon, to consider to content to be too difficult, and to go into a dungeon or raid without reading a guide or watching a video on how to beat it. I've heard stories of people getting kicked out of groups just for asking about the mechanics of a dungeon. It just became a very bad environment for any new, casual, or lower skilled player. I ended up just playing the revised 1-60 zones before getting bored and quitting.PunkRex said:Now that raids are open to newer players (and I can finally get on one!) its only gotten worse. Thralls balls, if you don't crunch your numbers to Noxxic's percise class sets, you might as well not play as elitist butt holes will laugh you out of the raid.Zeckt said:World of Warcraft. I can't stand to play the game for 5 minutes without being disgusted by how awful the community is. 5 years ago I was addicted to it more then any kind of drug, now even thinking about it makes my stomach turn and changes my mood negatively.

Every time a custscene started playing in Generations, I couldn't stop thinking, 'You know what, I bet somebody, somewhere, is doing something very wrong with these characters...'.
I honestly thought it was really good symbolism.DracoSuave said:There's reasons they use Guy Faulkes as iconry.Linakrbcs said:V for Vendetta, specifically V's outfit. I can agree with this. The DM that I was with for about a month or two was both very bad at actually playing the game and instead would just strike up casual conversation. One of his favorite topics pretty much defending what you stated... Just... Just the irony of it.Nigh Invulnerable said:D&D fans and stereotypes of said fans can make me hesitate before admitting to DMing for years. I love the game, but there are far too many basement dwellers who rarely shower who take up space in the local game rooms.
By the same exact token, no one was claiming that they were perfect because they didn't like X, just exposing the flaws in others so that they may become a more well-rounded individual. If someone was unnecessarily whiny, not pointing this out to the person would mean they would continue to be whiny. If you do point it out to them they will change to be a more fun and rounded person to be around.erttheking said:I prefer not to judge people like that, we're all so flawed I find it kind of arrogant to assume that you're better than someone because you don't like how they respond to a show.
That's right, if the box was full of shit we should be happy that we can play with shit.Bocaj2000 said:Bioware fans. I have never seen so much hatred in a community. They are spoiled brats who are never satisfied with what they have. I'm not just talking about the endings; I'm also talking about facebook and forums.
Portal fans literally ruined the game for me. People randomly spouting "the cake is a lie" ruined my experience to the point that the charm that drew people in wasn't there for me. It's a game I want to like, but I can't.
Absolutly. Love the costume, not a bundle on the ideology but still. Yeah now you cant wear that to a party without people associating you with anonymous or "the 99%" or one of these other riddiculous pressure groups who think the world can be made a better place without making a positive or productive contribution themselves.Linakrbcs said:V for Vendetta, specifically V's outfit. Didn't they sexualize most of those characters in the show anyway? I mean Rei did become a giant, naked woman in End of Evangelion. So like... y'know.Nouw said:It really bugs me when I see sexualized pictures of anyone in NGE, and I'm not even getting into Rule 34 >.>.

Plus that Shinji is totally cute.*

Eh, I agree. Doesn't mean there isn't something sexual or sensual about it. I mean, I'm pretty certain Shinji's sexuality is purposefully thrown into question several times. I mean, fetishization is one thing, but sexualization is definitely in place and the internet has taken that further until it reaches its unholy logical conclusion.Nouw said:Feel free to call bullshit on me but:meaning, depth and symbolism.Andy of Comix Inc said:Didn't they sexualize most of those characters in the show anyway? Oh I definitely agree, one of NGE's many themes is sexuality and that is exactly why I find it annoying when someone draws up a half-naked picture of Rei in bed with Shinji. I'm sure I'll get over it though, it's rather petty.Andy of Comix Inc said:Eh, I agree. Doesn't mean there isn't something sexual or sensual about it. Art is allowed to share the bed with petty sexualization. Even if it is done so in a symbolic matter. ...just my two cents.
