Well, no one ever makes fun of me for this, but I like rap music when everyone else hates it with a passion. I guess it's because the only 'rap' they know about is, like, Soulja Boy, or whatever the fuck just became number someteen on the Billboard top 20 list thing. Here's some legit gangsta rap to pop a cap of reality in those sucka's asses. Fo-shizzle.

I get laughed out by my parents and friends of my parents for liking this song a whole lot:
But that's an awesome song!

For me it's wareing skinny jeans. Some of my friends ware them, but the majority don't and I'm gay because of it. Also that I like the movies Love Actualy and The Devil Wares Prada when I'm a guy.

Dammit, I am allowed to like Viva Pinata if I want!
AMEN BROTHA! People bash me for having all those fucking Whirlms and Sparrowmints, but as soon as my Dragonache comes on screen, they definitely change their fucking minds.

Besides Viva Pinata, Wizard101 is a game I really enjoy. Only problem, is that I can't really ever get subscriptions for it from my parents because they usually laugh the thought out of their heads.. So I try to get my friends to try it, and it usually ends the same way..
[small]Fuck you, it's a fun game![/small]

I have this friend who is so convinced he has a very "fine" taste in everything and that whatever I like sucks ass, so he insults me for liking games like Portal & Bioshock and thinks they suck, for not liking classic metal or w/e the hell you call it cuz I don't like people screaming at the top of their lungs and i can't make out what they're actually singing.
Also once I mentioned to him that I have a caffeine addiction, and he said that there's no such thing and that it's all in my head ... !

On the other hand I get picked on pretty much by every freaking member in my family for being into computers & video games, and they actually think that I'm pissing my life away studying computer engineering and programming at THE best university in the country & instead think I should be studying architecture, cuz apparently programming isn't a real job and programmers don't do anything good for humanity ... that is of course until one of them needs my help with their computer then all of a sudden I'm the family genius.

D&D, my brother is the only one really, but I remind him that he is a complete WoW arena addict who gets into the top leader boards, so he is no better than me. (Note: Ive never played D&D but I do have a boatload of sourcebooks.

Wait. Wait wait wait. There are people who mock you for reading Terry Pratchett.

I'm not sure I follow. Mind you, I guess it's on par with every other ridiculous reason in this thread (like laughing, really now).

Oh, couple more I remembered. Being foreign (I live in Japan), having no interest in drinking/smoking, refusing to insult anyone or curse at all. Oh, and being a pacifist apparently makes me a complete idiot, but I've been shown several times that it's not the best of ideas, so I suppose I've only got myself to blame for sticking with that.

Wow, either I'm a total outcast at school, or North Carolina isnt like the rest of the USA/World. Because I rarely get bitched at for liking something. (well not many people know I like anime/manga, but whatevers, there a bunch of nerd where I live....though I am in my schools band, so maybe if I hanged around jocks more i'd get the hate a little.)

anyways, nothing really....those who know about my taste in women and anime tease me about it, but its all in good fun. My parents are awesome and really open minded....or allowed us to follow what we like. My bros are film geeks and English Major, other then me not very interested in films and books, they also open minded. :D

Warhammer, both variants. Not quite sure why, I mean, I don't insult people for watching the world cup (which I hate. Bloody horns.)

It's more that I get mocked for having all of his books... What are we up to? 30? 40ish? books?

My friend insulted me for drinking Sherry because "the name sounds stupid".
He's an idiot sometimes...

I think I got mocked by him for liking this awesome fellow as "he's like if someone O.D'ed on acid... and lived", even though the guy's obviously playing a character... fuckin' people...

Here's one of his videos, I would suggest watching all of it to get a feel for the character and music.

Oh, yeah, I get some shit for my D&D-ness, as well. You should play it, it's a total blast.

I don't really know if this counts as hate, since the people bashing me are mostly my friends or classmates, but they half-joke about it. At least i think so, they like to whine, and this way it doesn't disturb me a lot. Anyways, the list starts:

Anime: Yeah, every single time i say the word anime near a friend who isn't into anime, he says something like "Argh, i don't care about your hentai, man!" Yeah, for them it's always hentai. But I'm pretty sure there was no hentai in Trigun, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Great Teacher Onizuka or in all my other favorite animes. Anime is great.

D&D: I love the RP element in D&D. The acting, if you could call it that. But those who don't know what D&D is just laugh and say something about how pitiful it is to play a boardgame. Meh, don't really care anymore about what they say. D&D RULES! (3.5 FTW)

Reading: A hobby i haven't done quite a while since the lack of time, but still: i like reading. Be it something Pratchett wrote, or a Dan Brown book, if it's interesting, I'll read it.

And i suppose there are other things, like me liking Half-Life 2 and sci-fi movies. And the list goes on and on. But i like all of the stuff. And if they don't like it, then it's their problem, not mine.

Also, looking at the list, I'd suppose people would actually have the right to call me nerdy or geeky. Geeky sounds better.

I've been accused of liking "Girl music" for my love of Singer songwriter pieces such as this:

And for playing too many video games. But I do play too many videogames. I am horrified whenever I hit /age on GW.

Also I REALLY enjoyed Dynasty Warriors, and reviews are always smashing it.

Well, the books ARE all worth reading. Okay, so I'm not a big fan of his books until around Wyrd Sisters and on, but still.

Video games, "emo" music, and the fact that I'm not interested in the things that the "normal" girls my age are bloody obsessed with, "emo" music, the fact that I don't watch popular programming (aka: reality tv shows), did I mention "emo" music?

I mock Mac users pretty casually.

Towards myself? Ehm.. Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh (the Original series, GX is fail), ABBA, Final Fantasy, my mother towards my Atheism. Most of the prominent things.

Watching documentaries, playing Dragon Age: Origins and Red Dead Redemption.

I have no idea why, they're just jerks.

Dynasty Warriors. Some other things I like that people put down, like Two Worlds and Peter Molyneux. (Hes like a puppy)
