my friend doesn't like claudios voice and calls him a fag then is wondering why i listen to it. if the video doesn't actually pop up and it's just a link, this is coheed and cambria
Ah, I just saw them live two days ago. Epic gig! Coheed are pretty awesome... although I don't like Claudio's voice. Still, that giant ball of hair puts on a great show.

OT: Final Fantasy. Yes, I really do like that crap, and no, you aren't all that witty. Have a nice day.

I try to keep stuff I like/enjoy under the radar for exactly this reason, but that doesn't allways work out...

A female friend of mine once started to insult me because I enjoy games and how it is all just a waste of time with no social interaction or anything, which then led forward to a long discussion. Because of this I rarely talk to her, but if I see her I say "hi" and give her a fake smile. Gaming is a big enough part of my life for me to mean that if you are against games you're against me in basic principle.

I've also been insulted because I enjoyed watching the O.C. which one of my friends found out about, but I don't really mind anything he said back then, because a month later he dropped out of school, started with drugs and eventually disappeared.

and also liking anything that isn't dubstep or house music in my shitty high school. 'Cause according to them, some drugged-up unemployed losers with synth boards make better music than incredible bands like Seether, Rammstein and SoaD.

Hair.

More specifically I get the occasional random insult from people, "people" in this context being strangers and dickheads, because I have long(and quite frankly, bitchin')hair.

I've never understood the reason for the hair hate....
Me too. What's wrong with having long hair anyway? People are always saying how my fringe looks like a curtain and I've even been mistaken for a girl a few times...

An ex-girlfriend issued me with an ultimatum once, me or the comics.

I choose the Comics.

I've also gotten grief from idiots for reading normal books in bars. Everything from being accused of 'pretending to be smart' to arseholes who are pretending to be smart themselves insulting what i am reading, one obese moron in a football jersey even had the neck to tell me to try kicking a football once...

And I get that statement a lot from other friends, that the music I love, which is full to the brim with instrumental and vocal talent, is "just noise"
If the video you so...kindly...brought to my attention is the music you love, I'm inclined to agree with your friends. I heard no talent of any kind in there, and I tried, I really did.

On topic, I get railed on constantly for reading. One time someone took the receipt I was using as a bookmark and said "Fifty bucks?! You could have bought a shirt with that!" Gee, thanks, or I could have gotten four books. Another time someone tried to strike up a conversation with me about how much reading sucks while I was reading. Loved that one.

I could write you an essay on the times i've been called out for dancing along with old 80's rap music...as a fat, white kid.

Looking back though, it might've been for some other reason. Those people at the bus stop never show up anymore...

Pro wrestling. I swear "You know the WWE it's fake?" has got to be the dumbest question on earth.

Politics. Apparently a sixteen year old taking an interest in the country as a whole is unthinkable. I should be out there getting drunk and whatnot.

Oh, and the Davies' Era of Doctor Who.

I've been belittled for liking Pokemon so much.

The worst part is that my father was the one doing that... :/
I got that from my dad too.

I've also been made fun of for having read the harry potter and, twilight sagas. They don't seem to mind me reading parodies though like Bored of the Rings or, Barry Trotter

D&D, my brother is the only one really, but I remind him that he is a complete WoW arena addict who gets into the top leader boards, so he is no better than me. (Note: Ive never played D&D but I do have a boatload of sourcebooks.
Oh, yeah, I get some shit for my D&D-ness, as well. You should play it, it's a total blast.
Yeah but I doubt any of my friends know how to play or would have the patience for it.

Holy mither o' God, OP. That video is disturbing. Never got the appeal of this torture-porn stuff.

Anyway, I get laughed at or scorned for disliking Bob Dylan. That and the fact that I try to avoid listening to music with vocals whenever possible.

To be fair everyone hates something and even if you/they don't say anything. You still think "qe? wtf?! how can you like that?" Like people who listen to MCing, and scouse house for that matter. Or rave actually. I just look at and don't get, at all, in the slightest, i can't even appreciate anything about it nor do i bother to try.
I generally don't share my likes/dislikes with people, not for fear of being insulted, but because quite frankly unless we're good friends, its non of your damn business.
