Things you have been called because of your music?

I usually get "fag" for listening to various indie bands and experimental musics, the type of stuff you don't hear on the radio, and often borders more on the annoying/noise than what most people listen to. I've had a few friends appreciate my taste in music, but, otherwise, no one gets it.

I have been called "fag" many times.

Mainly because I don't listen to whatever other people like.


I have also been called many bad things because I really hate rap.
Unlike most high school kids, I still have some dignity and refuse to listen to rap and act like a "gangsta" because everyone else does.

I've never been called anything in a derogatory way because of my music taste, to be honest it's too varied for my music taste to be genre specific, although I do listen more to rock, metal & alternative than pop, house & classical, they are all genres I listen to.

Though, I got called a metal chic once because a person was going through the music on my iPod at a party, saw the vast amount of metal work there and said: "Ah, so you're a bit of a metal chic, huh?"
One of my guy friends heard this and his nick name for me has been Chicky ever since.

Most emo kids in highschool wear death metal shirts and whatnot to make themselves seem hardcore, so it's an understandable misconception.


I've never been called anything, because people in Manitoba apparently don't know what ska music is.
