I usually get "fag" for listening to various indie bands and experimental musics, the type of stuff you don't hear on the radio, and often borders more on the annoying/noise than what most people listen to. I've had a few friends appreciate my taste in music, but, otherwise, no one gets it.
I have been called "fag" many times.

Mainly because I don't listen to whatever other people like.

I have also been called many bad things because I really hate rap.
Unlike most high school kids, I still have some dignity and refuse to listen to rap and act like a "gangsta" because everyone else does.

Let's see, I listen to mostly rock, classic rock and alternative rock, so I've been called:
Fagot
Pussy
Emo
Loser
Burnout
Emo Pussy
Old fart
Fucking dumbass (mainly from the retards I go to school with who think generic rap is good.)

And from my brothers when I listen to Nirvana "stupid emo pussy ***** that listens to a fucking raging homosexual complaining that he's going to kill himself because he's a pussy fagot"

For listening to Green Day, they call me a "fucking dumbass who can't tell shit from good and that these pussies are a bunch of no talent fagots that ***** about getting high and Bush and sound shit live. The fucking bass line goes on for to many fucking hours!"

(says the people who think Lordi, Slipnot, Dragonforce, 30 Seconds to Mars, etc. are good bands.)

I got called emo when I played dream theater too loudly at my school once. It made me laugh a bit as emos general usage at my school is another word for different or doesnt like rap.

Generally I get called a "weirdo" or a "freak" because of my love for metal, especially folk & battle metal.

Let me think.....

"Dampening the Seventh Day Adventist Christian atmosphere" by having Metallica, System of a Down and....Toby Keith on my Zune.

Freakin choir director. And yes, he named off all three of those. But he ignored Megadeth, Montgomery Gentry, Disturbed and Electric Six.

Weird.

I've never been called anything in a derogatory way because of my music taste, to be honest it's too varied for my music taste to be genre specific, although I do listen more to rock, metal & alternative than pop, house & classical, they are all genres I listen to.

Though, I got called a metal chic once because a person was going through the music on my iPod at a party, saw the vast amount of metal work there and said: "Ah, so you're a bit of a metal chic, huh?"
One of my guy friends heard this and his nick name for me has been Chicky ever since.

"Catholic"

my dad always says I have a "Catholic taste in music" which apparantly means that I listen to a wide range of music

I dunno how this makes any sense as Catholics are reknowned for being close minded!

I've been called emo for listening to Death Metal -_-
*sigh* The ignorance of high school students...
Most emo kids in highschool wear death metal shirts and whatnot to make themselves seem hardcore, so it's an understandable misconception.

I've never been called anything, because people in Manitoba apparently don't know what ska music is.
