Okay, all those people who say it is "addictive" are objectivly wrong.
I played WoW for about 2 years in Classic, stopped after first addon, played second addon for a few months, played third addon for a few months. If they release another addon, I will probably play it again, if I feel like having the time.
And it is fun.
But stopping to play is no problem. You just... don't play it anymore if you don't want to play it anymore. And if you want to play it, it is probably because you are having fun, in which case WoW is a good game.
5-man dungeons are fun, raids are fun, leveling is... not as bad as in other mmorpgs. And people are hilarious.
/edit: And don't wait for other MMORPGs, every MMORPG that got hyped in the last decade that wasn't WoW sucked (at least compared to WoW, which is SO MUCH BETTER!).
/editedit: And if there is anything addictive about WoW, it is the people you meet and play with. I met the people I play and talk with ~2-10 hours every day through WoW. One of them still plays WoW and is quite happy with it. (At least he responds "Sorry can't play with you guys, gotta raid yaaaaay" when we ask him to play LoL or Terraria or Sc2 etc. with us.)
