Seriously, I could never navigate those caverns with that bastard of an Octopus blocking the way. Stupid lack of oxygen-related time restraints!

Yep. Home Alone 2, The Incredible Hulk, and Bart's Nightmare: all kids games for the Super Nintendo that kicked my ass.Sniper Team 4 said:So, has anyone else ever sat down to play a game you thought would be a piece of cake and ended up banging your head against the wall? Any of them as, um...embarrassing as mine?
I'm with you there, I was so infuriated that I had to use a walkthrough. Phantom Hourglass was by far my least favorite LoZ game.LordNue said:"Close your DS" pissed me off to no end. I did everything I Could think of, then closed my DS because I had to do something and came back and it was solved. I almost threw the fucking thing at the wall. It's such a simple but stupid puzzle.shewolf51 said:Legend of Zelda and the Phantom Hourglass. That game has some of the most obscure solutions to puzzles I have ever seen.
As a joke my friend and I always beat the latest lego games co-op, honestly just don't try to think about what you're doing, just smash everything then build whatever you can, the games will literally just lead you to the next thing to break.Sniper Team 4 said:snip
it wasn't really that hard to figure out if you read what the gorons told you the first time you were their as a kid. I think their was a heart piece you could get as a kid there by doing it to a huge goron who was rolling around the same area.MiracleOfSound said:I had terrible problems with Ocarina of Time.
Some of the ways to advance the story were so bloody oblique... how was I meant to know to bomb that lone rolling Goron? Or to go digging up graves at a certain time?
Oddly enough, I found the Water temple fine and actually pretty easy.
Ah I remember these, they really were the hardest parts of the games for me. Still haven't finished the hoverboard mission...Ironic Pirate said:Jak 2 had a hoverboarding level where you had to drop bombs or something, I neve could beat it and I tried really hard.

There was also this fucking lizard race thing... fucking monks were cheating bastards.
i had problems with it too, i couldn't find the bow in the forest temple...... weak. made me feel so stupid and my friend actually giggled in my face about it, then i got him to show me where to find it.MiracleOfSound said:I had terrible problems with Ocarina of Time.

That's a shame. The thing I found disappointing was how easy the game was. I breezed through each dungeon and boss rather effortlessly. The only parts that I remember being a problem were the large maze mini-game and the ship cannon target practice. And the Ship game was being hard because I was making it hard. It turns out you don't need to lead the targets at allLordNue said:I had to look up an FAQ on how to beat one of the stupid ass bosses in that game too. I really hated Phantom Hourglass.Signa said:I did that too, but I closed it to look at a FAQ because by that point, the "puzzle" wasn't worth the kudos for completing it with my own brain. I almost NEVER use FAQs, and it certainly was funny reading the FAQ and then resuming the game to find that had I not looked at the FAQ, I still would have completed the puzzle.LordNue said:"Close your DS" pissed me off to no end. Lego Indianna Jones. Once I got tired of COD and L4D when I first got my xbox I decided to play through Kung Fu Panda(although easy and childish, it was fun) and Lego Indianna Jones, I too had the problem of not knowing what the **** to do and got frustrated and angry and decided to go back to COD and get killed repeatedly by the endless number of 12 year old screaming at me.Sniper Team 4 said:So I like to think I play games pretty well. I can get through some L4D missions on Expert, head-shot people from across the map, beat Ninja Gaiden I & II, got all the star in Spec Ops, and other stuff that seems pretty challanging. The only games that kick me in the head are fighting games, so I stay away from them.
Then I played Lego Batman. I have never needed to look up what to do next so many times for a game, and that includes every Water Temple. I constantly find myself running around in a circle, confused. What makes it even worse is that I know this is supposed to be for kids, and I'm positive they don't have this much trouble. I thought this would be a quick, fun way to catch up and pass my friend on number of Achievements, but it's turning into a real head ache.
So, has anyone else ever sat down to play a game you thought would be a piece of cake and ended up banging your head against the wall? Any of them as, um...embarrassing as mine?
