i had the same problem with Lego Indiana Jones!, how is anyone meant to figure that crap out?!

"Close your DS" pissed me off to no end. I did everything I Could think of, then closed my DS because I had to do something and came back and it was solved. I almost threw the fucking thing at the wall. It's such a simple but stupid puzzle.

That's exactly how I solved it too.

OT: I've never encountered a game that required more than a quick glance or tip for a specific section.

I had to look up an FAQ on how to beat one of the stupid ass bosses in that game too. I really hated Phantom Hourglass.

I really don't remember. I think it was the wizrobe guy or whatever. The answer was simple and I Was close in most of my attempts but just off whatever stupid thing they wanted me to do. I miss LttP's solution of "Just cut it with a sword".

Oh, Blaaz? Yeah, he was annoying. I didn't learn how to see the order to get the smaller ones back together until I'd already beaten him...

I second this! Ecco the Dolphin (Genesis) and the Tides of Time (Sega CD) are soul-stealing traps that hide behind the guise of a childrens' game. THEY LIE!

I would also like to add Star Trek: The next Generation - Echoes from the past for Sega Genesis/SNES. The mine is IMPOSSIBLE without a guide, and the worst part is that you have to do it twice for two different reasons. Do you hear me escapists! I said it's IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!1!11!!!

despite my love for games i'm actually pretty bad at them and can get frustrated when playing a lot of things on normal

A mistake I often make is getting a title that looks really fun on a Let's Play but then turns out to be really really hard for me because I really don't like ALL that much difficulty in my games. I like difficulty just hard enough to challenge me without making it challenging; if that makes sense.

I can't even beat MGS3 on Really Easy (I'm stuck on the part where you have to drag EVA around) and I spend most of RE4 low on Ammo trying to sneak my way around to various boxes to get more.

PoP: Sands of Time. I have started the game about 5 times in the past and always given up because I got to a point where I had no idea where to go or how to get there, and couldn't be bothered to check a walkthrough. My girlfriend at the time of course did beat it when I gave her the PS2, on the first try, no walkthroughs, no nothing, after having played a total of, like, 5 games in her whole life, some Mario games when she was a kid and a bit of LBP. *****.

Can anyone explain to me the appeal of "Lego whatever" games? I mean, I loved Lego when I was a kid, I played with it all the time, but taking an awesome universe like Star Wars or Gotham City and dumbing it down to little blocks and plastic figurines I just can't understand. It's for kids, yeah, but somehow I feel it's not just kids that play those.

i have a... "friend", 20 years old, who is basically orgasmic every time a new one comes out. it's scary, but he's also the type of guy who's hopelessly naíve, etc, so i suppose it's par for the course...
