Half Life 2 put me off because it was so unclear at times as to where you were supposed to go.
Did manage to complete the game in the end, but some places it was so unclear for me

Lego Batman rivals SH2 with Riddles on hard in its head-bangingly frustrating puzzles.
Silent Hill 2, even without the riddles on hard, is just a pain in the ass to get through. So much backtracking. I remember I was stuck in the Toluca Hotel for about two hours because I didn't pick up an item that was in the entrance courtyard.

I had terrible problems with Ocarina of Time.

Some of the ways to advance the story were so bloody oblique... how was I meant to know to bomb that lone rolling Goron? Or to go digging up graves at a certain time?

Oddly enough, I found the Water temple fine and actually pretty easy.
i had problems with it too, i couldn't find the bow in the forest temple...... weak. made me feel so stupid and my friend actually giggled in my face about it, then i got him to show me where to find it.
Oh don't get me started on that mother fucking Forest temple, that was the most confusing part of the game. Turns out for ages I missed an out of the way room that had a key to progress. Also, keeping still means the spiders on the wall don't attack you, it's a lot harder to get past them not knowing that. I was stuck on the forest temple for weeks. Water temple was ridiculously easy by comparison.

I remember on MGS1 when you had to find meryls codex number, "on the back of the cd case". Which actually meant the case the game was in!! I went round the whole game looking for a cd item lol before going through every single codex number until I found her.

I thought Mickey's Wild Adventure for the PS1 would be easy enough, but I was very, very wrong.

God of War: Chains of Olympus. I kinda missed this whole in the wall because of the camera angle and was stuck for about a week before looking it up. I felt ashamed. It was in the sun temple.
Oh you mean that one hole where you pull back on the wall to get up to the statue? Yea that confused the hell out of me too when I have no clue where to go until I just so happen to walk to the left and notice a passage way....*facepalm*

Legend of Zelda and the Phantom Hourglass. That game has some of the most obscure solutions to puzzles I have ever seen.
"Close your DS" pissed me off to no end. I did everything I Could think of, then closed my DS because I had to do something and came back and it was solved. I almost threw the fucking thing at the wall. It's such a simple but stupid puzzle.
I did that too, but I closed it to look at a FAQ because by that point, the "puzzle" wasn't worth the kudos for completing it with my own brain. I almost NEVER use FAQs, and it certainly was funny reading the FAQ and then resuming the game to find that had I not looked at the FAQ, I still would have completed the puzzle.
I hated that damn puzzle. I rarely RAGE about games anymore but after I finally gave up and went to gamefaqs, I was so pissed about the stupid solution that I couldn't play the game for weeks.

What's sad about this conversation is that it caused me to go back and start playing the game again. At least when I come to that puzzle again, I'll know what to do.

That exact one. A single room in a one level completely and utterly destroyed my self-worth without even trying.

I'm afraid to ask, but which boss was it?

Pokemon Ruby. I just beat the second gym leader, travelled to the route with the cycling road and I was stumped. I was supposed to get to the city with the 3rd gym leader but I didn't have a clue to how to get there. I wondered around, overleveled my pokemon team. Got bored, started a new game and got stuck at the same route again.

I was stuck at this point for literally a week. Then I was just running around aimlessly and then I found out you were able to go under the cycling road bridge. That may not seem like a big deal to you but in the previous pokemon games, you couldn't go under buildings and stuff so I had no idea. I got owned by a freaking bridge. A FREAKING BRIDGE. Not even Norman or Steven were as much as a pain as that bloody freaking bridge.
I... I am not alone.

Skies of Arcadia: Legends. When you fight the red giga. I hadn't bought a secondary cannon during the one time I could've and because of that I had to start the entire game over.

I must admit, a lot of these made me laugh. I don't feel like such an idiot anymore. Nice to know everyone has their off moments. Thanks everyone.

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

I remembered as bastard hard back when I first played it, but I thought as a more experienced gamer it'd be easy.

It wasn't, and made me feel like I was a noob.
