This is why I think that animals are superior to humans

I over exagerate my feelings a lot, but I say this without exageration, joke, or rashness: I want to kill these people. I want them to suffer.
Nothing angers me more then this. Killing is appauling, for pleasure, more so, but to an animal, a dog, who can do no true wrong, whose only want is to survive, is an evil beyond words.

As for the topic, yes and no. Animals can do horrible things, but (as far as we know) only to survive (yes, a few people have been caught in crossfires, but it wasn't intentional.) We can do horrible acts out of anger, greed, and pleasure, but we can also do much good, helping those in need, and stopping what we have just seen. We are superior in every way but morally, and even that is in moderation.

OP, please place a disclaimer stating exactly what we are about to see. I was expecting poor living conditions, starvation, not the sadistic murder of a dog.

Really? You watch one video, and suddenly "animals are better than humans because all humans are like this"? Really?

And humans are animals.
This is not the first video i see from stupid and disgusting people harming animals just because they can
For example in China where they rip off the skin of living animals to use it for fashion purposes. They don't even kill them before doing it because that would "ruin the skin". After they do that they pile them until they die without blood and sometimes give them to the dogs there while they are still breeding. And this is just one of the examples.
And the most stupid of this is that the people who wear this (and manu and many of them know about this fact) say they are just animals. How can humans be superior to animals?
It depends on what exactly you mean by superior. We are vastly more intelligent than any other species; that's pretty superior. Our bodies have evolved so we can handle tools and such; not many others can. We're pretty much at the top of the food chain.

But I can only assume you mean morally. Well, the thing is, other animals don't have morals, while we do, so saying they have superior morals isn't correct - they don't have any. If they do something which humans would consider "nice", such as protect their young ect, it's because their instincts are telling them to, not because they are making a conscious choice to do good.

Typically I would say that humans are superior to animals. Of course there are exceptions, like the people in this video that I refuse to watch.

Someone many pages ago said that humans were better on the merit that his dog walks into glass, I too think humans are superior but I question that metric. I submit this video as evidence that the metric cant really be used :)

The cat only plays with it's prey because it was taken from it's mother or otherwise interfered with before it learnt to dispatch it's prey. Normally a cat will trap prey and kill with a bite to the neck but cats that don't get shown how to do this don't ever learn. They catch their prey then kind of derp out and don't know what to do, then simply recapture it every time it escapes. The cat isn't torturing the creature because it's not thinking like that, it just gets caught in a loop util the prey dies.
Nice explanation, except it's not really true. Cats who have lived to the fullest with their mother and even may still live with their mother indulge in that behaviour as well, and with animals they have no intent to actually eat. Even the most skillful mouser may and often does play with their prey. In fact, a well fed cat is more likely to be a good mouser because a cat that doesn't get enough food kills a mouse, eats it, and goes to rest until it needs more food so energy doesn't go to waste. A cat who is full kills at its leisure.

Some of my least favourite memories of my childhood at my relative's farm was to come across the barncats tossing a half-dead shrew around. No cat on the farm ever tried to eat a shrew more than once in their life because shrews taste like crap to them, but the cats would attack them anyway for no real reason other than to play. They'd gather, pass it around, and leave when the shrew stopped moving. I'd always have to kill the shrew instead.

Accept the fact that not all behaviour is strictly adaptive. Not even all traits are adaptive. Many animals use their traits for other than their "intended" purpose.

Humans certainly have the potential to be more than animals. Degrading into nothing more than brainless worms is a slow process that needed a lot of time to finish. That is where we are at the moment.

I once saw a domestic dog atack and almost kill a smaller street dog, for no aparent reason
So I dont really think animals are so pure.

What kind of punishment should these kids receive?
Does my logic make sense?
Should people receive as a punishment death for animal cruelty?
They are - dumb kids after all. I mean I don't mean to degrade them or anything but really, if they're that stupid it's probably not their own fault. Although in my opinion the stupid and a danger and should be locked away.
I see where you're coming from, but I really don't agree.
No. No. No. Do you know why animals aren't as cruel as us? They're ignorant. (in my view at least so don't yell at me) They feel pain, life us. They MIGHT feel, emotions like that but hatred is something that doesn't come up much in nature. So it's unlikely animals would be violent for no reason, they simply don't have the mind for it. We're superior because of the emotion. It's natures way of evolving us to make sure everything is going to be below us. It's cruel but true. We -are- top of the food chain after all.

I suppose animals are morally superior to us. But only because they don't have the senses to really have morals in the first place.

Us humans are animals.
And if you were to seperate us, we are still superior.
Sadly, we are the dominant species on the planet, if we don't like something, we get rid of it.

It all comes down to what you mean by superior.
And by the way, those kids should be set alight.

Given the nature of the topic, the requisite furry joke seems inappropriate..

Humans can comprehend ethics; animals do not. We wouldn't even judge each other ethically if we couldn't comprehend it (obviously, I know). It's entirely too easy to condemn our species' actions unilaterally, as cruel as people can be, people can (and do) do good things for each other too.

Without dipping into philosophy too deeply: Without a basis of comparison, "good" and "evil" would be meaningless.

Animals torture other animals all the time. Ever see a cat injure another animal like a bird or chipmunk, then bat it around like a play thing while it's injured?

The animal world is brutal and cruel.

Dolphins have been known to kill for fun as well as several other animals, we just think that animals are more pure than us because we often don't witness it for ourselves. so everything is a bastard.
That said, humans have the ability to create morals that prevent this sort of thing so in that sense these kids are monsters that should be set on fire themselves for this.
In very cold terms:Animals do not have morals so they are not accountable for cruelty, when a human does this they become negative progress and must be dealt with and possibly exterminated.

Slightly off topic, but has anyone noticed that these kids seem to be living in a Brazilian Favela? They've probably seen this done to PEOPLE, so doing it to a dog is noting to them, they want to be like the tough guys who run the neighborhood. No excuse, I know, but I'm getting tired of people saying that these kids are doing that to the dog for absolutely no reason.
