HAHAHA...just to let everyone know, I have taken in multiple stray cats and have taken countless others to a shelter. I would never actually kill a cat with crushed glass in food it was movie reference that I am actually surprised no one on this forum got.......

You know crushed glass isn't actually deadly, right? I mean, in big enough fragments, maybe. But if they're small enough that the person doesn't notice them while eating, they're probably too small to kill them.

Then again, this is a cat...

If you do this, the internet shall make your life a living hell. I guarantee you this. 4chan doesn't have a lot of scruples, but one thing it will not tolerate is violence towards cats. If you hurt a cat and post about it on the internet, they will find you.

I must not read that I must not read that I must not read that I must not read that...

I must not see.
Sadness is the mind-killer.
Sadness is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will avoid my sadness.
I will permit it to pass over me and around me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the sadness has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
How am I supposed to conquer the world by being good?

how could a kitten be ugly anyway? They're all so cute.
Man, I reworked the litany against fear, and nobody even says anything!
Jerks...
Also, I dunno. Kill 'em with kindness? And you're right. All kittens are "d'aaaawwww."
That poem-y thing? it's awesome, I'm stealing it by the way.

If cute, keep it. If ugly, let it starve.
Don't you dare say that. Just because a cat is ugly doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be loved.
I actually cried while reading that. I don't know if I should say "thank you" or "I hate you".

D'aaawwww, you got a new kitty avatar.
Same kitty?
Anyway, yeah, it's called the litany against fear.
Read Dune. The books are good stuff (until you get to the ones written by the authors' son.)
Yeh same kitten.

Cool, and I've been needing a new book to read so thank you.

I've already got a cat (who doesn't like the aforementioned stray) so taking it in isn't an option.

I guess I'll be taking it up to the animal shelter tommorow.
I'd like an update. Was the cat taken in?

If you did, or even if you didn't, it would be wise to put up 'found cat' posters in your area with a picture and/or description of the feline. If taken to the shelter, state which shelter on the poster. The cat may be a stray, or - in all likelihood - it belongs to someone and escaped the house or wandered too far from the yard. An actual stray, a feral cat, would not be nearly as cute and smitten to your household.

There is a third option outside of scaring the cat off or sending it to the shelter, and that's keeping it as an outdoor cat. It cost next to nothing to make or purchase a small version of a dog-house for the cat to stay in as some type of shelter, and all you'd have to do besides that is leave out a bowl of water and food. If you choose this route (provided the cat hasn't been sent off to the shelter yet), take the cat to the vet or a shelter and get it fixed for free. It may cost a little to get the shots it needs as well, but it's a worthwhile investment in the end. The vet will also look for a microchip, which could locate the previous owner.

Talley the costs should you choose the third option, and put up those 'found cat' posters. If the owners shows up even long into the future, charge them for everything you paid to keep it alive.

I recommend a combination of a super-soaker and bleach.

Honestly, it's a big responsibility, but if he likes you, he's an outdoor cat. Just feed him a bit, you know? It's not much. And take him to a shelter if you don't want him. They get mistreated, but it's better than them fending for themselves.

You should always give food and take care of any strange stray cats that like you and follow you around. They might start to bring you the next day's newspapers.

Gah dogs much more fun that cats..
Won't say that so fast. It's hilarious to let my cat thud itself against the wall, when it tries to grab a laser pointer spot. Or watching him hunt. I can even play fetch with both of them.

All my experiacnes of cats have been ungrateful tossers who will happily anny the hell out of you for food then leg it and get ran over. I love walking my dog and shes sat behind me right now, osscaionaly nuzzling me as i need to feed her.
