3. Do you have any tips for a n00b?

I hate the term noob, its newbie!

1: Spycheck
2: Dont play sniper or spy at first, every team has too many useless ones; try playing medic getting to learn maps; everybody likes his medic
3: Crosshair isnt accurate for every class, learn to lead your shots for projectiles
4: Everybody is a spy until proven otherwise
5: Avoid the following: Instant respawn/32player/2Fort/Quakesounds
This guy is probably the best one to listen to. Especially rule #4.

What if the person I'm spraying with Holy Fire ISN'T a spy?

No, Yes, Yes, Pyro: Hold W+M1

Also join the Escapist Team Fortress 2 group: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/chat/The-Escapist-Team-Fortress-2-Group-PC
Don't train another Pyro to be W+M1. That's annoying as fuck. I've come close to capping in Arena so many times, and I end up dying because of a W+M1 Pyro :[
If you want to be a leet Pyro: Just watch these. [http://www.ubercharged.net/2009/04/25/wm2-hot-air/]

Then nothing happens. But Spychecking is paramount to a good team's survival.

3.

1) Have a light heart going into this game. Extreme seriousness from any player usually just offsets the mood of most servers.

2) Don't get paranoid about spies. Check for them, but don't get obsessed with the notion that everyone's a Spy, because a number of spies I've seen and played against fed off the fear. Crazy stuff, I know.

3) Learn to play the class that best fits your playing style. Due to the various classes, there's no need to completely conform/change just for this game.

4) And, in addition/contrary to the above, learn to play at least one class of each class set; one offense, one defense, and one support, so you can change classes effectively to help your team

5) Go to lots of servers so you can see how everyone plays and learn from your observations.

6) Have fun. *thumbs up*

Nothing will happen if they're a teammate.

1. No
2. I guess so, but wouldn't know... Being around since the begining.
3. Do some research about the ropes of every class. The easiest clases to begin with is the medic, and your team will love you if you are at least competent at it. However, the simplest class to use is the soldier.

1) Nope, hail the great valve
2) it kinda depends on the server, some have really good players and some are for beginners. Seek some newbie servers out to get into it
3) As many have stated before, everybody loves a medic. But if healing aint your style; Soldier/Pyro are the easiest to begin with

1. No sub fee
2. Its your standard FPS...
3. Play Sniper until you get the Huntsman, Huntsman is your "shoot-randomly-and-might-get-a-headshot" weapon.
