what made me lose faith in humanity was when an elderly wheel chair user was trying to get of the bus and a slew of college students rushing onto the bus didn't even move for her as they didn't want to lose their spot.

Hitler - It says it right in the party name "National Socialist German Workers' Party" not "Socialist German Workers' Party". Learn the fucking difference between Socialism and National Socialism before you speak about either of the two, because there is a HUGE difference.

What is the difference between Socialism and National Socialism

National Socialism puts emphasis on Nationalism, whereas Socialism is anti-nationalistic

National Socialism encourages a Cult of Personality for its leader, Socialist ideology entails putting the people over any leader

National Socialism is similar to fascism in its restriction of many things including free speech, free press and right to assemble, whereas in a true Socialist state the people would be guaranteed all such rights, and in fact would have little interference by government in their choices as individuals (just the economy would be heavily regulated)

National Socialism puts a lot of emphasis on conflict between nations, whereas Socialism aims towards international cooperation.

National Socialist economic policies, while regulating the economy, do not do so to help the people, but do so to help the military/political/personal interests of the ruling party.

In conclusion- National Socialism is something resembling fascism, with a government regulated rather than corporatist economy, and Socialism is the political opposite of fascism.

Killed your faith in humanity huh? Your standards are pretty low to begin with if floss killed it. Most of what your going to find on the Escapist is a bunch of people parroting Yahtzee. But there might be the very very occasional good one.

The thing that sealed the deal on my lack of faith to humanity, is how people disregard the most simple of tasks/request.

I work at McDonalds in Ottawa, ON, Canada, and as the only one in drive thru, I will constantly have a line up of cars. to stop the GODDAM beeping of a car waiting in line, I tell the person "one moment please."
You would think this is a simple task... once you step into a drive thru lane...No it isn't.
I had one guy hear me say this, then starts telling me his order. I then tell him again "one moment please". He says "ok, and then starts saying it LOUDER. I then tell him AGAIN, he gets mad, then drives off.

*siiigh*

Been there; used to work Drive-Thru at Mrs. Winner's Chicken. *chuckle* Luckily I have a bit of a European accent, so that mellows most people out.

Erghhhh, thats just depressing. Some people really think a) Stalin was interested in socialism, b) Hilter was interested in socialism, and c) that they wheren't just lying dictators who used the word socialist the same way most businesses who corporate bullshit words.

I knew people here would be sympathetic. Good, and I've found rather leftist, community.

Also The figures are A load of Bull well Stalin in particular as all records were burnt only 200 000 are known to have been killed.

Well I think (though my history is alittle shakely) when Stalin forced collective farming on the rural population at Secret Police gunpoint, it I think I heard alot of them burned down there farms rather than give them over to the state. As a result, the famine that ensured killed alot of people.... I think...

As for who had one testicle, I think Hitler really did only have one thanks to a bullet in WW2 - its also possible he had some sort of dental problem that left him in frequent pain.

Oh yeah, she was a total *****. Much respect for the guy that was Canada's 2nd-worst Driver, he cut his license in half after he realized how bad he was. Then they drove him home in a limousine.

It was Hitler, but I heard he lost it due to shrapnel way back in World War I (when he was a Corporal or something.)

nothing has made me lose faith in humanity entirely... because its almost illogical to do so based on one event or one trend- and reserved mostly for younger people yet to realize the world isnt as entirely shitty as you try to make it seem to be angsty and cool
