I'm not really Atheist, but I do like to live by the motto "Seeing is believing." If there's no physical proof of something, I find it hard to believe. Then again, I think SOMETHING important must happen after death. I don't want to just turn into a tree (Dane Cook...)

Buddhists definately. The least insane of them all. A monk came to speak and he acknowledges the fact that it's chemicals in your brain which causes emotions, and that meditation does not make you a god, just alters the wavelength of your brain to increase perception. Definately the coolest serious religion I've seen so far. If I had to pick that's the one.

Ah, I get you now. Still, I do wonder if all Buddhists think like you do.
Some seem to give off this sort of energy like "ha, ha, I'm enlightened, you're not".

If you get what I mean? Anyway, thanks for the response.

I really can't say...It seems to me that depending on the school one is from, Theravāda, Mahāyāna, Vajrayāna the " in's and outs" may differ.. it's like comparing many of the judaochristain faiths..they all follow the same " god" but their way of going about it may be very similar, but different... ( though we don't have a history of bloody infighting over it)

but the basic idea universally taught is that there are many paths, and as one would say " all roads lead to Rome" If your Tibetan, Soto, Renzai, Shin or any of the other sects your tools will differ a little, but the end goal is the same, and no path is right or wrong as it's down to the individual themselves to follow a path by their own means... but make sure to lift your eyes from the road, and take in the scenery it makes the walk/drive much better and rewarding, and may teach a thing or two about nature along the way.

Wicca.

DISCLAIMER: Rose McGowan has nothing to do with this.

EDIT: Yeah, the disclaimer is a lie.

Buddhism its more a state of mind than an actuall religion if you get rid of the holy book of course and just do the meditation/mind clearing thing.

My second favorite is either classical Greek or Norse religions because their gods were interesting and they knew that the gods were all crazy sociopaths who would just do whatever the hell they wanted to and damn the consequences.

If a buddhist was to be truly enlightened, he would not act like that, thus proving he/she's wrong

biology, science and all that has NEVER been questioned Buddhism LOVES science in general... as it's really focused on the self, and control over ones own mind, and body, our actions, focus etc.. becoming aware of the self to loose the self..sciences actually are the best aid in opening up a better understanding of the laws of nature.

( PS.) the Dali Lama is obsessed with Quantum( string-M) theory :)

Buddhism.
No higher beings expecting me to overcome any odds they've set against me in their infinite wisdom. No coming over and bothering me about wether or not I've found Buudha. No doctrine of slavery. No wars in the name of Buddha. No need for graven images reminding me that some hippie got nailed to a telephone pole with the implied expectation that I should be just like him.

Aside from that, the Tao is interesting and Greek, Celtic and Norse mythologies are always a fun read. :)

he died after eating toxic mushrooms...don't think Prince Siddhartha Gautama would be too comfortable with shrines of him kneeling over in a cold sweat vomiting...

not the most ideal way to show respect for a teacher.

which actually someone asked why there are so many statues of Buddha then if he's not worshiped?

the statue is no different than having a photo or leaving flowers at a grave site, it's showing respect to a good person, and a teacher.

no the fat bald guys are not ( the) Buddha, they are bodistava.. basically Monks who technically reached that level to be considered Buddha's, but rejected enlightenment for the sake of focusing all their attention on helping others first.

Buddhism definately. Seems quite a lot of people here would consider that as there prefered religion.

That or Jedi anyway...

Buddhism. Nice quiet peaceful people who don't bother you nor do they want to bother you.

It does take real effort to ignore evidence like that.
Nice, just... Just nice... Gives me a new perspective on them.

I would have to say... Either Daoism (a.k.a.: Taoism), or Buddhism. I pretty much can't stand religion. The good and innocent suffer, but only because some invisible diety loves them so dearly.... Ok.... Kinda like the father that beats his children because they're not smart enough to know better? Perhaps I over simplify the analogy, but that's only because I am afraid to ask questions. :-D
Oh.... I went there...

Pastafarianism. Any religion that involves dressing up as a pirate rather than not having a lie in on Sundays get's my vote.
Somehow I forgot about good ol' Pastafarianism. His Noodly Appendage has not foresaken me, though, as I now added it. Woot indeed.

Buddhism: only non-aggressive religion I'm aware of. Self improvement rather than judgement.

Seconded.
And we all know pirates are good for our ecosystem.
I for one, own the Pastafarian gospel.

I find satanism to be for emo's and self-harmers who want to stand out and try to shock you by saying they worship a devil. I am unfazed by this, and call them faggots.

You sound like a ball-o-fun to be around. Meh, to each his own I guess.
