Anydangways, while Peaches there goes off and starts being emo in a corner, I'll just say that different people like different things. I do agree, though, that he hasn't grown up with them (seriously, Link to the Past = awesumsawce), and maybe you could take into account what kind of people his parents are (from the look of it, they're probably sports fans who think anything not sweaty and full of pain is "gay").

However, I do agree with you about younger generations not "knowing their stuff". A few weeks ago, I was talking with a little kid about Pokemon (the little dude loved em). He told me, though, that he didn't know who Hitmonlee was, and I wanted to cry. I don't even want to ask kids if they know who Lolo or Geno are. I guess we can't expect them to know EVERYTHING, cuz I mean, heck, we've got over a decade of gameplaying under our belts (some have even more), and those kids haven't even been ALIVE that long. Maybe just give the poor guy the benefit of the doubt, yeah?

I'm with the OP actually and am a little surprised at the amount of backlash he's getting. Frankly, he's right and the kid was a fucking idiot. It's kids like that who make me worry about the upcoming generation. While going to "You're retarded" wasn't good debating, pointing out hypocrisy of anybody calling anything 'gay' in a derogatory way, while simultaneously loving something else that is full of sweaty men getting into *ahem* provacative positions, was the right thing to do. After all, the best way to deal with homophobes is to call them out on their bullshit.

That said, I think kids today have about the same moronic to intelligent ratio as adults today (or adults past, for that matter).

Ignorance is bliss. The boy proably never played a single Legend of Zelda game and his fragile little mind proably couldn't even get him around to beat it.

Children today seem to only go out for the simpliest of games, I know quite a few who would avoid a puzzle game for the easy pointed goals of Call of Duty or like you said Smackdown vs Raw (*Shivers* That game brings back bad memories I had with earlier wrestling games).

At least, that's my own theory. It's how I felt when I was younger. I always kind of felt like a jackass whenever the game outsmarted me. (Leaving me to come back to it several years later in an attempt to beat....usally being successful.
