Anydangways, while Peaches there goes off and starts being emo in a corner, I'll just say that different people like different things. I do agree, though, that he hasn't grown up with them (seriously, Link to the Past = awesumsawce), and maybe you could take into account what kind of people his parents are (from the look of it, they're probably sports fans who think anything not sweaty and full of pain is "gay").
However, I do agree with you about younger generations not "knowing their stuff". A few weeks ago, I was talking with a little kid about Pokemon (the little dude loved em). He told me, though, that he didn't know who Hitmonlee was, and I wanted to cry. I don't even want to ask kids if they know who Lolo or Geno are. I guess we can't expect them to know EVERYTHING, cuz I mean, heck, we've got over a decade of gameplaying under our belts (some have even more), and those kids haven't even been ALIVE that long. Maybe just give the poor guy the benefit of the doubt, yeah?
