I see you did remember. I was tempted to put Ozzy instead because of Randy Rhodes.spankcakes said:No, some of us didn't, but shamefully, most of kids don't know that much about them...blindthrall said:1

I guess I should have said "Prog metal lacks coherent song structure, or is simple song structure fucked up by a bunch of wankers and drum fills." You can have tempo changes, amazing drums and great solo work, but when you push beyond gain and go to distortion, you're just trying too hard. I forgot to mention the terribad lyrics. also you can't have over-the-top tempos(22/8) just to CHUGGA yourself out of them. That's cheating. At least when Jazz left song structure in the dust they kept a fucking BEAT.Novskij said:Prog Metal isnt Br00tal enough for you?Not Good said:SHO ISNovskij said:Dear lord these lists are just rage-bate for real metalheads.
4. Anything labeled as "prog" (i.e. Dream Theater, Cynic, Opeth, Meshuggah): the lack of nuance and the loss of any real song structure does not make the best band evar.Meshuggah
Opeth
Cynic
And Prog metal has song structures, so i dont know where your coming from.
Fine fine, ill change my list.
Black Sabbath.
Gorguts.
Metallica.
Death.
Suffocation.
Does that satisfy?
Was on your list, so you really cant bash me when you put those terribad bands on your list, which dont really experiment unlike the prog metal bands. And it just seems overall your one of those metalheads that cant appreciate alot of expermentation in metal, which Meshuggah and Cynic do.4. Pantera
5. Rage Against the Machine
