Xasthur and Summoning are some of my favorite BM bands. Burzum is up there too. Now that Varg is out, he's said that he's working on a new project.

I never understood various opinions around Varg. I mean, the guy killed someone, yet people are celebrating his release. Even if he manages to release a fantastic album (if he's getting back to making music at all - he's not exactly consistent in what he says (or what is reported)), I couldn't bring myself to like the guy.

Still, let's hope for another album like Det Som Engang Var. (this is the best album)

Hmm, fair enough, I get carried away with music, so I ended up crossing so many genres and grouping them, also separating some, like, Lamb of God is now 'try hard metal' (not trying to piss anyone off, just compared to other metal genres, they are) and Anal C**t is now in 'Comedy'.

Is there anyone here into metal (at least 5 bands) who's over 30? Or is it just a teenage rage thing? I found my music tastes really softened with age, and never thought that would happen. I went to NIN a couple of months back and it was good, but really didn't move me the way it used to.

Lamb of God is Metalcore. Or some people call it Groove Metal. You can look up bands at:

Strange that you assumed I know about them, because I do, and I am pretty sure they are Avant-Garde and can be put in the same category as bands such as Caninus (uses two dogs for vocals) Hatebeak (uses a parrot for vocals) or Crotchduster (random riffs, hilarious and inappropriate lyrics).

Ages ago, I read somewhere that some people really want to fuck Varg up. I know that Necrobutcher said that he fucking hates Varg for what he did, maybe time has dulled peoples' hate, I don't know. Due to his high profile, something might happen if he's not careful.

Where's the diverse bands?
OK anyway, my favorite METAL (not emo, screamo, deathcore, hardcore,hard rock) bands are (in no order)

1. Gorod (Gorgasm FRA)
2. Hieronymus Bosch (RUS)
3. Artillery (DEN)
4. Annihilator (CAN)
5. Vintersorg (SWE)

Now THOSE are non-cliche, real metal bands.
