Anyone who's been on This site for a while knows what I'm talking about. The kind of threads that have been repeated over and over again, or trying to cause 'intelligent controversy' when people have already heard that argument a million times (we're looking at you, religious threads), or just plain ol' troll threads.

So, which do you think causes the most annoyance on The Escapist, and what types of threads should be banned?

Personally, I'd say religious threads: whatever message your trying to give, and however intelligent the topic may be, all its going to do is incite a flame war.

Zombie anything, religion, and politics. I think that we can go one day without them.

This banter is good and all, but like a lot of things its just a pipe dream. How would you implement it?

I'd like to see ideological and communist threads banned because of the afore mentioned flame wars, but its just not it the cards is it?

Pretty much any thread asking the community to explain why a game or movie is good, and then providing reasons why they thought it was bad.

I don't intend to implement it and all, its just a hypothetical question... besides, if I tried to do anything like that someone might sue me for trying to restrict internet freedom :p

The religious threads are annoying, aswell as the "Metal," threads. It's not that I don't agree with some of them, it's more of the frequency with which they pop up. Yes, I'm a metalhead and an atheist. You too? Why do you feel the need to create yet another thread about either one? Also, the "Down With American Imperialism," thread, AND the "Why All The America Hate," threads. Just getting tired of it.

I understood that long before you responded. I totally agree. All i'm saying is, sometimes drooling over something you don't have can be mentally destabalizing. You don't wander through Porsche lots do you?

Banning a topic implies no good can come from it, when the problem is more that they are simply overused. Not that some aren't forbidden, you can find them in the forum guidelines.

The best way to discourage topics you don't like is not to post in them.

I have the mental capacity of the sun, so I doubt I'll become destabalised (the proper way of spelling! muahahahah!) anytime soon :p aaand no, I don't wander through Porche lots, but then I don't drool over that kind of stuff... I drool over juggling equipment... and therefore have a large problem with drooling everytime I try to do a performance!I'm kidding, of course

I would like a temporary ban on soda polls. What the hell went on today? I never knew soda was such a hot topic.

Yeah yeah, you and your s's. I just don't like wavy red lines. Saying theatre hurts here on the Escapist.

Listen, just because you don't-

Ah, goddamn it. Ultrajoe beat me to the punch.

For the record, if we ever have a thread about the Glass and it's state of matter, I'm going to pull out my hair.
