Heights, though that one isn't stupid or irrational.
I disagree. Fear of heights is ridiculous.

Fear of falling, on the other hand...

OT: Elevators. For no particular reason.
I disagree, fear of falling is rediculous.

Fear of hitting the ground, on the otherr hand,...

Parachutes and base jumping spring to mind.

Jumping into deep water (i.e. the mediterranean)

It's just the overwhelming sense of space beneath me. Less so the fear of SHARKS or MONSTERS and more the fear of the huge, incalculable amount of nothing beneath me

OT: I have a friend who is afraid of feet. I'm not joking. She's ok with shod feet, doesn't like feet in socks, but is deathly afraid of bare ones... =/ And yet she's ok with her own feet...

To be honest? The SAS. Not the SASR, which is the Australian SAS Regiment, but the British SAS. If I get yelled at in an Australian accent, I can't help but not be intimidated.

I'm terrified of zombies. I've lost sleep over being terrified of zombies. At least they don't exist.

This thread is dedicated to fears that are not only irrational, but totally stupid as well.

My stupid fear is that I always fear entering the wrong public restroom. If I am the only person in the restroom, I always scan around to make sure it's not the women's restroom. The sad thing is, 100% of the time this occurs while I am standing in front of the urinal. That doesn't even make sense...

So, you guys have any funny things to share?
I do the exact same thing! But then, I did once make the mistake of walking into a female restroom, and only discovered it when I was inside one of the stalls, upon hearing women chatting. I waited until I was sure there everyone had left, then attempted to leave the bathroom when I bumped into someone about to enter one of the other stall. She, unsurprisingly looked quite shocked. It may just have been one of the most embarrassing moments of my existence (and there have been a lot of those).

I once stumbled upon a forum for people who are afraid of moths and butterflies. Indeed, they can be creepy when they fly up in your face, but you should read what they say in these forums. Many of them seem to think butterflies really desire to fly up into your face. This actually led to some conspiracy theory discussion. Yes, that's right: Butterflies are plotting a conspiracy.

I'm constantly paranoid that I've not locked doors when I'm out. Even though I'm always 100% sure I have....

dunno if that counts.

Nothing really scares me to the point of a phobia in the real world, but when I'm dreaming about spiders, I usually end up waking up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night and refusing to go back to sleep until I've washed the memories of spiders from my mind. Do we call that arachnodreamophobia?

Craneflys.

God damn them.
Oh my, this. A hundred times. Spiders? Usually no problem. Wasps? Bees? Beetles? All fine.

Fucking Craneflies/ Daddy long legs? *runs in terror*

Just can't deal with them >.< They're like what? A few cm in length/height and I'm over 6 feet.

But they're so fucking scaryy =(
Holy shit. This times a million. I don't know why craneflies are so freakin creepy but they are. That and camel crickets. I can kill any other insect in the world, but those two just literally make me frozen in fear.

Also, I have recently discovered that I have a slight fear of mascots. But only when they're up close, like less than 5 feet away. Their huge heads and silence freaks me out...
So that's what that thing is called. I'm willing to try to squash it, but if that thing flies near me, I will not keep still. I'd better pray that I don't dream about one some night.

You have my interest, carry on.

OT: Weirdly I have no phobias or fears, I only get scared of what people think of me,like a girl I'm interested in or something.
Also my friend had to go home today from her phobia of blood, she almost fainted and was really shakey, even though it was horse blood in a vial. (Biology)

I have a god-awful phobia of Turkeys (live, dead, videos or photos of them even. I find it hard to type the word and when I say the T word I feel physically sick) but I was chased by one when I was 3 so perhaps not totally irrational.

Also, my hair falling out all at once one day. My hair is my faveorite thing on me but I constantly worry its all going to come out if I brush it too much.
