Do they have to swear so much? I'm not against swearing, but after dicktits five hundred times, I am getting a little sick of all the fucks being thrown into games to make them edgy.
They don´t make them edgy, most US "Frontmeat" Soldiers in that region are around 18-25, and they do tend to swear...ALOT...
So it´s not edgyness they are after, it is yet another attempt at portraiting a modern Soldier.
Well, it looks nice, but then again, Trailers always "Look nice" and I certainly don´t buy a game for it´s grafics.
What bugs me is that these games nowadays always use the wrong kind of ACOG (the army and USMC version has no back up iron sights and is 4x only but that could be forgiven), and show it like some kind of red dot sight, where you see the frontsight post, and have largely no zoom at all. The one in Flashpoint: DR was the worst offender: 4x Zoom, usable scale, but friggin frontsight post right in the middle of it..., but then again, the "realistic" game got more stuff wrong then the "unrealistic" COD 4 weaponwise...
The one in Splinter Cell 5 was...trippy...but finally some kind of new angle.
I know it´s nitpicking, and I play and enjoy the games regardless, but it´s a flaw that would be easy to improve on, yet they keep on copying someone else who did it that way. They go all the way these days, inviting soldiers, capturing their movement, stuff they might say, how they would deal with it, just to keep the tone and setting straight, and then fuck up in the minor details...
