I made a thread about this a while ago XD

I'm super hyped up for it! Pre ordered and paid for already.

There are gameplay vid previews out there. They look absolutely balls awesome. I just hope the controls and "feel" turn out alright, because the setting, graphics, style, and action are spot-fucking-on.
Indeed, at this point the only thing I'm worried about are the length of the story campaign and possible control issues.
Hey, you know how one of these worries could likely easily be remedied, High Moon Studios? By giving us a playable demo!!! Come on, pleeeeeaaase!
One of my friends that works at EB games (He's a manager) went to a conference and got to play it, he said it controls well.

Great! :)
... I still want to play it for myself, though. Seriously, I feel like I can't take three more weeks of waiting. :\

I wish they'd get the exclusive characters sorted out for the UK release. For the US, they have Shockwave, Demolisher, and Jazz from different retailers as a pre order bonus. In the UK, only one store has a bonus character (play.com), and it's Demolisher, my least favourite character.

:/ This will never do.
Eh, it's no big deal, I think. The pre-order characters will only be available in one mode of the online multiplayer anyway, and I'm willing to bet the pants I'm currently wearing (and they are some damn comfortable pants!) that all the pre-order characters plus maybe a few more and some extra maps will be made available as DLC somewhere down the line. So, I don't think we sould fret about this.
Well multiplayer is nearly everything to me, so if you're wrong, this is kinda a big deal. I'll still be getting the game, though at some stage, I will have to destroy you.

Not interested in the slightest... The only way I might buy it is if it goes the Arkham Assylum way. Namely, something that I thought would flop but huge amounts of critical praise got me to pay attention.

Well, I'll deal with that issue when we come to it. Incidentally, did I mention I'm a master of Cybertronian Scrap Fu? :p

It's not a low content post. Normally, I talk your ear off, rambling away like a parrot on speed, drifting from one loosely related topic to the next and making people wonder if it's safe to be around me for any period of time.
So, when I just say "No" and leave it at that, the unexpected silence conveys phenomenal amounts of information about how much I'm not looking forward to it without me having to tell you that I'd much rather jab my testicles with cattle prods on full power than have anything to do with anything related to Michael Bay's version of the Transformer's universe.

While I generally agree with your point on "No" conveying a multitude of information, I don't think you're being fair here because the game has nothing to do with Bayformers - at all.

Lie in wait and stealth around all you want, nothing escapes the lenses of my cloaked spy drones! The moment you try and sneak up on me you'll be catching an Energon mace right in the crotch plate. :D

I need to know how the gameplay is going to be before I get that way....and as of now there's been no info.
Actually, it's a third person shooter akin to Gears of War. Some areas will be vehicle mode based while others will require more of a robot mode.
OT: I'm really psyched, but I'm gonna have to wait a while. Just got ModNation and loving it, but it made me just short of the 60 needed for Transformers.

I might actually have believed that if it came out a few years after the movies died out, but it's much too soon. Also I saw Bay's Bumblebee in the commercial and they're using the same voice for Prime.

It looks OK, despite the massive amounts of Michael Bay's urine coating the franchize.
Still, I've got to ask, how can Megatron transform into a jet even though they've never been on Earth?
He doesn't go into a jet.
In G1, he transformed into a gun. Because they don't want to shrink him in WfC, he transforms into a hovertank thing, with the large gun barrel on top as the turret.
The Michael Bay jet isn't G1, or maybe even G2, canon.

Ok, now THAT's Transformers, not a pathetic meatsack in sight.
While I share your joy about this, I would like to point out that transformers have always had at least 1 human character in most of there series (beast wars does't count D<)
the difference being that there nowhere near as annoying as those (morons?) in the movie.
the girl from Animated was ace though. <3
I have heard, and I may be wrong, that his game is more based off the War Within comic series (i.e. timeframe way before they ever came to earth), which was a good series. No meat-sacks.

I am very much looking forward to this, I have seen all the videos on XLA and am very excited about this. I'm affraid that Michael Bay and his Bayformers have done more harm that good the the franchise. Don't get wrong, I am happy (somewhat) that the movies exist (more money into the franchise) but they could have been done better (you know, with at lease the tinyest bit of acting tallent and script writing). I feel like anyone of us here on the escapist could have written a better story for Transformers 2.

OK, Bay has nothing to do with this game, at all. And the voice for Prime is the same actor who was the voice for prime twenty some odd years ago in the original G1 cartoon, that is why Bay used him, not a Bay connection there... a connection to the original series. Watch the developers videos and you will see where the inspiration came from. This (hopefully) will be more cannon than Bay could ever hope to be.

I've had it preordered since the day they started taking them.
Gen1 Transformers= Win
Real robot modes (as opposed to a bunch of Insecticons and Optimus Prime)= Win
No Human drama= Win
No Michael Bay influence= Win

Yeah, I'm a Transformer geek wanna fight about it? I have all of the US Transformers action figures, comics, books, etc. and quite a few of the UK versions of them also, so I don't think many people are as psyched for this as I am.

Megatron as a jet is cannon to the newer Transformers: Animated and a few earlier lines
In Generation 1 he was a Walther p.38 U.N.C.L.E. Special
In Generation 2 he was a tank since laws kept Hasbro from releasing a realistic toy gun
G2 (Go-bot Megatron- which were like the old mini cars) was a Porshe
Machine Wars he was a jet

Now, I didn't mention the other series such as Armada, Robots in Disguise, Beast Wars or anything after the original run from the 80's because after that the timelines and universes are odd, so the ones I mention are the same Megatron that came to earth 4 billion years ago.

Dude, you need to do your homework and check your facts before spouting stuff like that.

1) No time like the present to release something good related to this franchise. Like it or not, Bay's movies did one very, very good thing: They revived the franchise in a way nothing else has managed before. Awareness of all things Cybertron is at an all-time high.
2) For that same reason they probably stuck Bayformer Bumblebee's face on the commercial - so it'll attract even more attention. This is called marketing.
3) Robert Cullen has been the original voice of Optimus Prime since 1984.

Want something not tied to a movie license? This is it. Hasbro are so enamored with this project, they've given High Moon Studios the green light to use the game's story as the official Transformers pre-G1 canon. Booyah. This is a whole different league from anything Bayformers-related.

Different, yes, but odd...? Well, sometimes maybe. Still, not all that confusing... RID is its own continity, Armada, Energon and Cybertron are one continuity, and Beast Wars and Beast Machines actually fit perfectly into the G1 continuity and were intended as both a prequel and a sequel to the beloved show from the 80s.

I found the cartoons pretty dumb, and the movies suck even more...

So, uh, no, I'm not psyched. The only entertainment I derive from many of those shows everyone apparently loved as a child includes laughing at how retarded they are. The shows, that is. I love watching Captain Planet and GIJoe ironically. Both of the shows make such good comedy.
