Trapped! A Survival Horror RP - Chapter 6: Have We Escaped Yet?

"It's not for me, genius." Yvonne said to Leanne, before following Tyler inside, her pistol at the ready. She first checked behind the glass counters, then got distracted by some of the necklaces.
"Wow... these are really pretty."

Deciding the immediate area was clear, Tyler lowered his shotgun and walked over to the rings, particularly engagement rings and wedding bands.

"I wish I didn't have to steal these and could just buy them, but I also have a bad feeling about that 'sanitizing' the military plans on doing," he commented, about to break the case with his shotgun. "You think the owner's dead in here? Alarms might still be working." Tyler then went about searching for a body with keys on it.

*Mini Update*

Jedodo:

You go into the back room, it smells a little musty in there. You notice a smashed window ahead, and there is another door up ahead that is ajar. As you approach it you see a body on the floor, most of it seems to have been eaten, but there is a set of keys around its belt.

Making sure the safety was off, Tyler lowered himself to a crouch as he approached the body, shotgun facing the window. Slowing his breathing, he quietly moved to the body that hopefully had the keys to the jewelry cases.

"Hey!" Kelsey yelled from outside the store. "What's going on in there? The way out is down the street!"

 

[MasterSqueak]

Eric slammed his forehead into the steering wheel, causing a loud *HONK* to fill the air.

"Great. They're gonna nuke the city, and we'll be too busy stealing shit to get out. THAT CRAP WILL BE REALLY USEFULL WHEN WE'RE DEAD!"

Yvonne leaned back out of the door.
"We're just checking for Survivors, I thought I saw someone moving through the window." She said to Kelsey and Eric.
"And stop honking!"

 

[MasterSqueak]

"Survivors?"

Eric rubbed his forehead, feeling a bruise.

"Of course, I can see why survivors would be in a jewellery store, and not heading for the checkpoint out of the city that's RIGHT OVER THERE."

 

[Jedoro]

Annoyed at the noise coming in from outside, Tyler ripped the keys off of the body and stomped back out into the display room. Firing a shell into the ceiling, he set the shotgun on the counter and began trying keys.

"Impatient assholes," he complained. "How much time do we have to get out of here?"

They heard gunshots from the direction they were about to head in, almost as if someone was answering Eric.
"What the hell?" Yvonne said, walking slowly until she could see around the corner.

 

[Jedoro]

"Eric, get out!" Kelsey yelled, jumping down behind the truck. "If the guards are shooting, they can see you!" Hearing the commotion outside, Tyler sped up his search for the right key until he finally opened the case. Grabbing a silver 8 band and a smaller, golden band, he slung his shotgun and readied the M4 as he ran to the door.

"Get back!" he yelled out, jerking Yvonne back.

"Whoa!" Yvonne was pulled back just as the guards noticed her. The wall where she was standing was attacked with bullets.
"Oh shit oh shit." She grabbed Tyler and ran back to the fire truck. From around the corner they saw another girl running, she had short blond hair and had obviously been the intended target by the guards. Before Yvonne could call out to her, she had moved a manhole cover and jumped down into the sewers.

 

[Jedoro]

"I'm half-tempted to jump in a building and kill those assholes for shooting at us," Tyler threatened, heart pounding from the incoming fire, turning to Yvonne. "You alright?"

 

[MasterSqueak]

"Damnit!"

Eric cursed, before grabbing his radio and trying to remember what frequency it had been on when he first got it. That would be law enforcement.

He ducked down behind the dashboard to prevent being seen, and tried his radio.

"Hey, checkpoint guards! If you can hear me, WE AREN'T INFECTED. So stop shooting us!"

"Y-Yeah, thanks." She continued looking at the manhole.
"What do we do now? If they have the wall protected we can't get over."
She looked over at Eric, hoping for a response as much as he was, but the radio stayed silent.

Current Time: 5:50pm

 

[Jedoro]

"Hey, assholes!" Kelsey shouted at the top of her lungs. "We have the President's daughter! Stop fucking shooting!" Tyler shrugged and checked the nearby area, watching for zombies attracted to the noise.

 

[MasterSqueak]

"Yeah, what she said! YOU HEAR THAT? YOU NEARLY KILLED THE PRESIDENTS DAUGHTER!"

Yvonne blushed slightly. "Guys, I don't think they can hear us, maybe we should've followed Dean.."
And that blond girl. She thought to herself.

 

[MasterSqueak]

Eric growled, unholstering his left pistol. He stared at the radio, before switching it back to their frequency.

"Alright, I say we shoot our way out."

He tightened his grip on his gun.

"You think we have enough ammo to take them all out?" Leanne asked him, getting her hopes up.

 

[MasterSqueak]

"Body armor can only stand up to one or two shots, and that's if the wearer is lucky. If we don't miss too much, we should have plenty."

Eric thought he should care more about the lives of the guards he was planning to kill, but found himself incapable.

Oh well, they shouldn't have gotten in his way.
