Everyone who was headed downstairs is downstairs. We will assume that everyone is in the lobby, except for Higu/Kaze and berethond/Joseph, who went to explore the kitchen, and linchowlewy/Rafael, who is apparently still in bed. Uh-oh.

For those who came down the atairs/are going to the kitchen: The kitchen is not accessible from the lobby, you would have to go through the restaurant to get to it. It's true that the doors to the restaurant are locked, but Spartan's character should have keys to open it.

I didn't want to nitpick and make everyone who took the stairs to the restaurant hit a locked door and go back up to the first floor, so lets just say that the stairs on the lobby floor come out next to the restaurant entrance, rather than coming out inside of the restaurant itself. Technically, the ground floor landing has three doors, one to the mechanicals room, one to the lobby, and one to the outside of the hotel. The one to the outside would have a fire alarm bar on it, and it's sealed anyway, like the rest of the exterior doors.

she can hear them in the lobby, smell them too, the nasty little one with the cigarette. no smoking in the hotel, no smoking in the nursery! he'll make the baby sick. he'll make the baby cry and the baby mustn't cry. It's terrible when the baby cries. they are all down there, talking, pulling at the door, banging on it. she is sure the baby is listening. they didn't wake him though, her little Prince. the Prince never sleeps.

not like the one upstairs. she has a key to the elevator, the service elevator, in the pocket of her old uniform. up to the first floor she goes, with her key that unlocks the elevator and the rooms too. she unlocks his room, he's sleeping like a baby. not her baby, though. she must be quiet. they are downstairs, buzzing around in the lobby like flies. she must be quiet and quick. the pillow, over the face, that will do it.

Met with yet another door he couldn't open, frustration began to spread in Kaze's mind like festering fleas.

"Kaze." He said to the blonde guy who had followed him a bit. It wouldn't make any sense to make use of his nickname to these foreigners, as it would have a different meaning. Cultural differences, he thought.
He then turned his attention to the large, bald man who seemed perplexed.

"No, we haven't seen anything. I was the second to come down to the lobby, and there was no one here safe for that guy." He pointed to the man who looked Russian.

"That... slime, whatever it is, was there then. You know anything? Where are your co-workers?", he added, deducting the man was working here from the looks of his attire.

Seeing the massive confusion among the people around him, Kaze decided to take a more direct, practical approach.
"Maybe you could get this door opened?"

As he stepped off the elevator, Matt saw people crowded around the front entrance. Never one to go past a sight of interest, he approached them to see it was still foggy outside.

But no. He saw now that it wasn't fog. Dividing the milky cover like boundry lines were big, pink veins. Shivering, Matt stepped forward to listen in on what the others had to say. Hopefully they knew more than he did.

God, he hated being clueless.

As Remy bounced down the last few stairs to the lobby, he saw a large group of people huddled at the entryway. Raising an eyebrow, he decided against poking around a bit himself, and set off towards the restaurant.

Seeing the restaurant locked down dampened his spirits. The sign reading "Closed" seemed to be laughing at him. Remy sighed, thinking to himself "What a piece of junk hotel... what's next? A murder scene?" He let out a shaken laugh, turning on his heel and returning to the lobby.

A faint scent tugged at his nose as he left; mushrooms and raw meat. Wrinkling his nose, Remy was distinctly reminded of the cadavers they had used back at Uni. Shivering, Remy half-ran back in the direction of the lobby.

5'11". Short, dirty blond hair, blue eyes. More lank than girth. Seems to keep his eyes downcast most of the time.

"I didn't see any of my fellow employees here, I was hoping you had." Jim said, slumping down in front of a wall and shaking his head. It was obvious something, or someone, was preventing them all from leaving the hotel. Was this some cruel joke by his boss? No, his boss would never endanger customers just to hurt Jim, but if not his boss, then who? Could the hotel's owner have something to do with this? He couldn't possibly, that would be bad for buisness. Jim stood up and took his handkerchief out, wiping the perspiration from his forehead with it and walking over to the door and trying the knob. Just as he had thought, no avail. He walked over and opened up the restaurant doors.
"I'm gonna go see if anyone's in the kitchens, I'll be back in a sec." Jim walked toward the kitchens and was hit by a lanky man with blond hair. The blond man fell down and Jim offered his hand to the man, "You been to the kitchens yet? Is anyone back there?"

"Name's Joseph. I was hoping you had keys," said he after running into the large man. The Japanese man, Kaze, watched with guarded intent.
"Something weird is definitely going on here."

Joseph looked back at the confused people. Someone definitely had to do something or there could very well be a panic.

"Well, first we've got to get this door open."
The repairman glanced at the door.
"I said I don't got keys," he said.

"We've got to open this door, pronto," mused Joseph. "Well, if you've got a hammer, we can take the pins out of the hinges and just pull it off."

A very critical question now would, of course, be Which side of the door are the hinges on?

In that case, I might as well kick the fucking door down...

Kaze sighed, crossed his arms, and waited patiently for the peaceful slow solution. He began regretting ever checking in to this damned hotel. His feet were starting to itch. He wanted to get out of here, walk to the nearest town and find a dojo and kick the shit out of someone and...
He breathed out slowly. It was, in fact, his mind that was restless, and he could control that. He could control himself, and he knew he should. That is what he had learned as part of his, in essence, Zen Buddhist beliefs.

This was no ordinary situation however. It put strain on them all. Through that thought, he was able to calm down. They were all in the same boat, and would have to make the best of the situation. His furrowed brows relaxed and fell into a gentle line once more as patience returned to him. He wanted to say something reassuring and put a hand briefly on Joseph's shoulder.

"Good work. We're all in the same boat. All I've got is a Swiss army knife and a pack of batteries, for reference."

Paxton exited the stairwell to find a varied group of people looking somewhat worried. Shrugging it off, he turn towards where he remembered the restaurant being only to see that it was closed up. Two men were discussing something while observing the doorway, which appeared to be locked. He approached them, moving his way through the crowd.

"Hey, uh.. Do you have any idea if the restauraunt is going to be open soon?" Paxton asked the men confidently, never one to be shy. "I'm starving".

There is no kitchen access from the lobby. You have to go through the restaurant to get it, and Spartan, I'm sure that if you check your keyring, you will find a key to the restaurant in there, because you might have to get into the restaurant to fix something. In fact, given the nature of the maintenance guy's job, your key probably gets you into just about anything but the hotel safe.

Feel free to ask me what you see when you go into a new area. I'll give you a fairly good rundown. Of course, if you don't ask, I won't say anything (except maybe to correct you), and you might miss some very useful info.

I'll be without internet for 15 or so hours, so in short road trips suck and I might miss a round or two.

Right now, it seems that Matt's only options are to walk over to the restaurant door, look for items behind the reception desk (not smart when there are others around and he doesn't know there's a monster about) or going into the banquet hall, which doesn't make sense because he wants in the restaurant. So, instead of posting a boring bit of story, I'll just say that Matt will follow the guys into the restaurant when and if it's opened.

The restaurant has about 15 tables, each with their chairs stacked on top of them. Opposite the door is the restaurant bar. To the right of the bar is a gas fireplace, unlit. To the left of the bar are the double doors to the kitchen. The lights are out and the windows on either side of the fireplace, the windows are filmed over, like all the others on this floor.
The high counter where the waiters pick up the plates is on the right of the kitchen doors and the entire kitchen is behind that. There is a swinging door that allows you past the counter into the rest of the kitchen. The back door of the kitchen is opposite the front doors, with the walk-in refrigerator and walk-in freezer on either side of it. There are shelves of dry and canned goods next to the walk-in fridge, including racks of spices, bins of flour, and gallons of cooking oil.

In the main area of the kitchen, there are several prep tables with smaller pots hung above and larger pots stacked below. Against the far right wall is the 6-burner gas stove, griddle, and deep fryer. In the dishwashing area in the back right, there are tubs, rags, detergents, a mop and bucket, and a gallon jug of chlorine bleach disinfectant.

There are fire alarms and fire extinguishers by the front and back doors.

It's going to be a pain in the ass to search for all of this area info once it starts picking up. Is it safe to say we can expect all of the areas to not have anything unusual in them?

What the hell, I'll post something.

Matt's jaw dropped as he followed the repairman into the restaurant. "This late and it's not even open? What kind of hotel is this? Somebody better be dead or dying." He walked over to the bar on the seat closest to the fireplace. Tapping his fingers impatiently on the counter, he moved his foot to avoid what appeared to be a large ketchup stain on the floor. He couldn't believe the studio would put him in a hotel like this. Bad service and a worse cleaning crew. So far, the day was off to a crappy start.

I cant think of anything else to add, but if the majority of people move into the restauruant, Jordan follows them
