Someone doesn't read too many studies do they.
Someone seem to swallow a bit too much political propaganda here. You might want to check with some real scientific studies NOT sponsored by some anti-smoking lobbyist group before forming an opinion...
How about the ones Phillip-Morris did in the 60's? That's where most of the info I got comes from. Phillip-Morris, you know the cigarette manufacturer.

Why are you smoking anything other than Hookah tobacco? :)
comon man, its called shisha

i smoke hookah, pipes, and cigars

and im still raging over this crap

next up: another tobacco tax, then the legal age goes to 21, then all mixers are banned, so no flavored alcohol (THE CHILDREN ARE DRUNK, GET RID OF MOJITOS) then all booze with an alcohol content over 0.2%, then all cigarettes are banned, then majuana is legalized, 25 is the new age for drinking, tobacco is banned, alcohol is banned

finally, herbal shisha is banned, as are anything other than weed that you could possibly smoke, now teenagers are dying everywhere from alcohol poisoning, drunk driving, and are killed in gun fights (guns are also illegal, criminals dont care) over illegal tobacco imports.

finally, satan rises from the earth, and takes over the world

should have let us have our smokes, you hippie fucks

also, lower drinking age to 18, raising it to 21 only INCREASED drunk driving accidents

Nope. It would be the same fucking thing.

Key ingredients to having a stable opinion are:

*Reading up on research conducted by neutral third parties

*Take a look at the evidence gathered by these neutral third parties and THINK FOR YOURSELF!

*Having an education or at the very least a laymans interest into the relevant subjects also help (like biology, chemistry etc. etc.)

Try that, and im quite sure you will be able to carry a more sound and reasonable argument instead of just copy/paste:ing political propaganda like you do now...

Don't call them hippies. A real hippie wouldn't oppose smoking. I mean just look at all the weed hippies smoked during the 60's. : )

Hippies could be really cool people if you could just turn a blind eye to some of their poor personal hygiene and whacked out philosopies.

i try to keep up on political news, but a friend linked this to me, and i'm amazed no one seems to be talking about it:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/23/health/policy/23fda.html

i'm surprisingly furious at this. i'm not a regular smoker, and i'm completely in favor of taxes on tobacco and public smoking bans, but this makes no sense from a public health standpoint and pointlessly restrains free trade. it also bothers that the federal government is trying to raise our children for us; i'm afraid a ban on violent games is next. Or maybe the FDA will require all liquor to taste terrible, so they won't be as appealing to kids?
well to be fair certain parents do a really lackluster job at raising kids...so someone has to make up for it.

Okay, I'm sure the store I work at isn't the standard or anything, but when I pulled the camel signature brands from the shelf today, it was the same 34 packs we've had since the reset LAST NOVEMBER. Which means they weren't selling at all, to younger or older smokers. The FDA is ridiculous. I want to know who they were talking to that thought a strawberry (for example) flavored cigarette would be safer than a regular -- what, did they think it counts as part of the fruit group?

No wonder Americans are stereotyped as being so stupid and ignorant.

Yeah, government bans on most things are stupid. People who really want them will just go to the black market and/or go out of country to get them. I don't see how keeping flavors out of cigarettes will keep kids from smoking them anyway. What I wish tobacco companies would do is make the smoke from all tobacco products Smell better. Man, some of those cigars and cigarettes out there smell awful!

Quite the novelty item actually. I tried this supposedly "chocolate flavoured" brand once or twice, but not because I have a problem with standard tobacco flavour, but rather because they looked cool (the filter paper was black instead of white, and black is my favourite colour so..). Didn't really taste like chocolate at all actually. The paper just tasted like it had been dipped in sugar water or something, but other than that, there really wasn't much difference in flavour.

Just to let you all in on a secret that is really out in plain sight, Philip Morris supports this legislation. Why? Because it squashes the competition.

Cool, Refreshing Legislation for Philip Morris - http://www.thebigmoney.com/articles/judgments/2009/06/08/cool-refreshing-legislation-philip-morris

See how PM buys a clove company then gets the Fed to ban Djarums? Funny how that works aye?

Yeah, well it's a subjective matter really. While I can agree that cigarette smoke smells a bit stale and boring, cigar smoke smell quite nice in my opinion.

The point here being that it's pretty hard to please everybody.

Perhaps someone should try to market some cool and party-friendly looking facemasks for people who don't like second hand smoke?

Now im not a regular smoker, but If I saw someone showing up at the pub where people are allowed to smoke (not that those exit any more but it's hypothetical) wearing a facemask with some cute logo on it, I'd probably ask:

-"Hi! What's up with the facemask?"

And if he or she answers:

-"Well im really not a big fan of second hand smoke, but I don't wanna be a **** about it and try to enforce my will unto others and start to ***** at all the people who want to smoke so I picked up this facemask instead. That way both me and the smokers can stay in the same pub an enjoy themselves."

I'd buy him or her a drink and compliment him or her about the facemask. Especially if the facemask had some artistic design to it which went well with the rest of the outfit for the evening.

A person who reasons like that is the coolest person ever in my book, and they certainly deserve a drink and some compliments.

But as always, people tend to like acting like cunts about everything rather than being cool...

First they came for the flavoured tobacco
But I did not smoke flavoured tobacco, so I said nothing

There should be freedom of choice. If the government keeps banning things that are bad for our health, you can soon say goodbye to all tobacco, alcohol, sweets and hello to weekly food rations and compulsary pro-vitamin shakes.

Anyway, there is a pension deficit. Shouldn`t they be encouraging us to die as quickly as possibly.

Hoo-ray for the government making health-conscious decisions on the behalf of their population, 'cause heaven knows they can't decide for themselves. Maybe they'll ban kid's meals in fast food chains, seeing as it lures them toward unhealthy eating habits.

I'd buy them a drink to see how they'd drink it while wearing a facemask. Perhaps the smokers pleasure is not worth the pain it brings to all around it.
It's not that hard. Lift up the mask and take a swig and hold your breath while doing it. I don't know about you people but I don't breathe at the same time as im drinking somthing, since... you know, It would cause me to drown...

I hate kids. Why can't they just require a licence like real cigs, or do they already? If thats the case then thats pointless.
