I resent them more for making me bash my keyboard to death in button mashing fights...seriously bashing a button on a controller works, on a keyboard it breaks after a few times...and wtf is with this bs of having the game show xbox buttons on the PC?!_Nocturnal said:That's a grand vision they have there.
Next thing they'll want us to physically go in their offices to play their games under direct supervision.
And you know what, Ubi? I still hate your guts for not releasing the ending for the last Prince of Persia game on PC.
No upsides to you, except that they are finding ways to not charge the few people that pay for the game $150 a copy to still make money.Abedeus said:Also if your net goes down for any reason, you can't play.
You want to download something in the background and play a single-player game? Well, don't be surprised if it doesn't save for 30 minutes.
There are NO upsides of this shitty system.
You know what I find funny? They never say from which country the most downloads occur, they simply say that their game has been pirated X times. What if the country with the most downloads is actually a country outside the targeted audience? For example, in my country, there's no real gaming industry. Games are overpriced and so are consoles.psrdirector said:PC gaming is dead, why? its to easy to pirate on it and people are to willing to just steal. I know I would just say screw it never make a game for it again. Also outside of a small few, PC games don't make nearly the same amount of money. Its sad but I blame the fans for the death of PC gaming, not the industry.
Pretty much this. I can tolerate the authentication and activations, but remotely stored saves just seems like an incredibly stupid idea, what with the internet issues this guy mentioned and all.WrongSprite said:Saving on a server?
You can actually fuck off Ubisoft.
How do I play offline?
What if the server is down?
etc etc.
The internet really is interfering way too much with games.
But they DO turn a profit, and that's good enough.psrdirector said:I personally, as someone who loves PC gaming and think its better, thinks the industry Better just abandon the platform.

This argument annoys me. Every time I see it I'm thinking "Right, so driving is unfair now because some people don't have a car?".AndyFromMonday said:A. Everybody has access to the internet;
you're saying any time a computer is online its under threat of a virus? this is a good idea, and if you have access to internet (which you do) then don't complain for other people.Sev said:Fighting against pirates, fine. But storing saved data on a remote server? That's just stupid. Then there's also the fact that not all gaming rigs have an internet connection, as some people want to protect their computer that way from viruses, so authenticating a game online is, once again, a bad idea.
Nice try, fellas. Better luck next time?
It's more like "In order to drive a car, you will now need to have a radio installed and at all times on. If it ever goes off, if the batteries ever run out of power then the car will stop. Those who do not have a radio installed will not be able to use their car"dogstile said:This argument annoys me. Its a stupid argument. If you don't have internet, bully for you.
The whole downtime arguments are fine though, those aren't the fault of the "USER".
There's always a chance someone will get in hitching a ride on an automatic update or for shits and giggles. And why shouldn't I complain for other people?Douk said:you're saying any time a computer is online its under threat of a virus? this is a good idea, and if you have access to internet (which you do) then don't complain for other people.Sev said:Fighting against pirates, fine.
