I wish they did a Cain movie. Preferably as an anime and directed by Satoshi Kon. He could give the movie the action and the humor it would need.
Its going to be 70 minutes long, and Direct to DVD.hamster mk 4 said:According to the Codex Pictures website their past works include Bionicle for Lego. This does not bode well. The best I am hoping for is a 90 min dawn of war intro. The worst will probably be a 120 min PG toy commercial replacing space marines for ugly legos. I hope they at least get a decent writer to put in some snappy dialog.
I concur, though we get the incredibly imber new codex with guys in power armour riding Wolves.goatzilla8463 said:Hell no, SPACE WOLVES! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!Ollie596 said:Why is it always Ultramarines?, Black Templars dammit!
I don't think Necrons or Tyranids are very charismatic either...Rolling Thunder said:Oh, good, more Marine Fail. The single least characterful chapter, in the single least characterful army. Why not make a movie about a Tyranid Hormagaunt? Or a Necron Warrior? Seriously, Space Marines in general are faceless, Ultramarines doubly so.
Games Workshop and Black Library will be coming up with the story. Knowing how closely GW treat there IP, they will not hand it off to some random screenwriter, nor will they accept anything less than awesomeness.KSarty said:If it's gonna be CG, why not just hire the studio that did the Dawn of War 2 intro and Space Marine trailer? Up to the point they get shot in the face by the nearest Guardsman with a plasma gun.DannyBoy451 said:Granted, the individual chapters are kinda generic and pretty similar for the most part.Rolling Thunder said:In essence, yes. Though it's rather like comparing negative numbers, in terms of army character.
Necrons are all faceless killing machines, built for the sole purpose of exstinguishing life. Pretty faceless, but at the same time, there is a certain character to the army as a whole.
Space Marines, on the other hand, do tend to have a bit of personality, but the fact remains the entire bunch of them are the biggest cavalacade of Mary Sues there are, there is no subtlety in any of their fluff, and they are all intrinsically similar.
Sure, there are SW, BA and BT. That's it. Don't point out Dark Angels - Dark Angels are nothing but Codex Marines with an Emo twist. They do not have any distinguishing features aside from the fact that GW decieded to milk some extra cash from their fluff-fans by making a copy-paste job of the SM codex with some Special characters.
My view, however, is that a legion made entirely of 8 foot tall, power-armoured space-fascists, who have two hearts, spit acid, wear pauldrons larger than their heads, and can eat the corpses of their enemies to gain their memories doesn't really need to have much distinctive personality, because it's absolutely motherfucking grimdark and awesome.
The opening cinematic for DoW2 and the trailer for Space Marine were both done by a 3rd party, Plastic Wax. They did great work so I'm just disappointed they weren't chosen for this too.Baron Khaine said:Games Workshop and Black Library will be coming up with the story. As for not using the guy's who did the trailer, either that was Relic, in which case, they won't use a Video Game Studio, or it was a 3rd party, which, could have been these guy's, who knows? (serious question there btw)
Have they done any full length feature films before? Like this studio has.KSarty said:The opening cinematic for DoW2 and the trailer for Space Marine were both done by a 3rd party, Plastic Wax. 7' 6", add on 4" for the power armour.zagzag said:I wonder how they'll scale the marines. The models and the background art have them in different proportions and after this it will be how people think space marines should look.
Ultramarines are the oldest chapter?etherlance said:Ok to those of you who wonder why it's always the utramarines that get the lime light...
i's probably because they are the oldest chapter (the first after the luna wolves so second chapter i guess)
they also have one of the most well known historyS amoungst the other chapters
Don't mistake me here just because i'm defending the Ultra's because......
I'M A NECRON PLAYER AND ALL YOU SPACEMARINE FANS WILL BUUURRRRNNN IN THE C'TAN'S RED HARVEST
You DO realise that it was the blood angels that fought the final battle above terra?Bretty said:From what I know it was only the Ultramarines that Horus feared.

There one, key word being one, of the first 20, but they are by no means the oldest. If legion is the oldest its the Dark Angel's, since they are the literal first legion.
oh well doesn't really matter all that much since I'm a necron player now
(oneday I woke up and thought "you know what? FUCK THE GOOD GUYS I'M GOING EVIL!")
