What games have you played which you know are bad, but enjoy nonetheless?

I used to be a sucker for hype, if I saw the movie and could afford it, I'd buy the game. Everyone else (including reviews) would tell me the game sucks, but I would still love it to pieces. I have had bad experiences with this type of thing, but my good experiences include:

Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest
(Loved the movie, loved the game, even spent hours saving up and buying the extra characters and weapons)

King Kong
(admittedly this wasn't a buy as I got it bundled with the PS2 but I really loved this game, it was great fun)

Avatar: The Last Airbender (and sequels)
(The zelda-like gameplay through me and, although short, was quite enjoyable)

So Escapist, have any games only you and noone else like?
I liked Sonic 06 and didn't have too many problems completing it in 2 days.
Also, the Iron Man movie game. While it really had nothing to do with the movie, being Iron Man was just the tits. So much fun, but quite a difficult game.

The Saboteur - I hadn't really seen much hype for the game, nor having read some reviews was I going to buy it, but when I bought a new 360 the game came free with the console and I was pleasantly surprised. Here was a game doing everything I felt GTA4 did wrong, but took itself somewhat seriously, unlike Saints Row. A game with a unique artistic style, a well-written and interesting story, and genuinely fun gameplay mechanics.

I'm still playing the game, and have just a few side-quests to beat before I beat every quest the game has to offer, but it's still one of the game games from last year - and one I got for free too.

I expected batallion wars to be okay. Then SHE talked. Never have I ever pressed mute on a console game so fast.

But it's a hard game and it's midly fun but infuriiating. Not as cool as I thought it would be, but it's enjoyable for me. When it's beat I'll be able to play a decent game to cool my ears off they're taking a nasty beating.

Terminator Salvation: The Game.

My friend and his girlfriend wanted me to rent this for them because I wanted to get them something.
Them, being Mountain Dew slugging/FPS junkies/and "OMG DEATH RACE IS THE GREATEST MOVIE EVAR", saw the game version of Term. Salvation and went gaga for it.
I told them it was a terrible idea. That movie games always suck.

Well, it did suck. Flat story, random cutscenes, terrible writing, and no flow whatsoever prevented this game from being my favorite.
But what did win me over was the combat.
Term. Salvation's combat was based off of Gears of War with all it's Chest-High-Walls and such, but the cover system is, to be truly honest, so much better than gears. When you stick to walls, getting unstuck is less frustrating. And switching from cover to cover is really ingenious. A small power wheel shows up highlighting every possible direction you can jump to for cover, and once you pick the direction a simple button press brings you to a new cover. And you always end up obstructed from your enemy's view, so you never get stuck to a wall while the enemy pumps round after round into you.

The game was shit for the most part, but the combat: top notch.

I Wanna Be The Guy. I saw hundreds of deaths, but I persisted until it was beaten.

I thought that I wouldn't like Final Fantasy XII. But I actually did like it and still do.(I'm going to either get flamed or yelled at for this comment)

Hmm... Warhammer Online, probably. As a WoW fan I wasn't expecting it to topple WoW, and it didn't, but I did find it to be a very enjoyable alternative. If I had limitless money I would have paid for a subscription for both, but as it was I could really only justify one. And that had to be WoW.

Now, FFXIV looks interesting...

Hmm, I would have to say, Devil Kings. Expected a shitty Dynasty Warriors knock-off, and got a pretty awesome hack n' slasher.

When was there an Avatar game that had Zelda-like Gameplay? All I remember is The Burning Earth(or something similar) Which was more Bioware RPG-ish.

OT: I did not go into the original Saints Row with much hope, I orignally rented it because nothing else was available at Blockbuster and I love Sandbox Games, and it is now(along with the sequel) is one of my favorite games.

My brother recently re-bought a PS2 and got a few games for it too, one of which was Fifa 07. Normally I'd have found something else to play but in a moment of willingness I decided to give it a go. Surprisingly I actually found it enjoyable to play and made me think that perhaps not all sports games are bad.

Oh, and also Gears of War 2. After being fairly unimpressed by the first game, I played the sequel at a friends house and have to say I liked it a lot more and even spent a good few hours playing solidly through co-op.

Woot another Iron Man fan. I found it fun too, though it also made me want to kill myself on certain levels :p

WET wasn't all so bad, despite the rest of the world thinking so. I mean, what people said was right, but it didn't stop me enjoying it while it lasted.

The level where you destroy that massive airship made me want to tear my teeth out. I died on Normal way too easy, and only got Bronze timing every time on that mission..

I really like FFXII, the first Final Fantasy I did EVERYTHING with.. went back and did that with some of the others when replaying them but still. I never really understood all the hate for it =/

OT: I really enjoyed inFamous when I thought I wouldn't (came with my PS3) and I also really liked LOTR online, would have played it as well as WoW if I had the money

Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War. Even though the voice acting was crap at best and the combat was simple but effective I got alot of miles out of that game. The only thing that made it difficult was the fact that the AI was terrible and it was usually my allies getting killed that made me fail.

Lego Star Wars

I only played the first one, but I collected every single item it was possible to collect in that game.
