I thought that I wouldn't like Final Fantasy XII. But I actually did like it and still do.(I'm going to either get flamed or yelled at for this comment)
I really like FFXII, the first Final Fantasy I did EVERYTHING with.. went back and did that with some of the others when replaying them but still. I never really understood all the hate for it =/

OT: I really enjoyed inFamous when I thought I wouldn't (came with my PS3) and I also really liked LOTR online, would have played it as well as WoW if I had the money
Many people hate it because of how it was different from the other ones. Also because of Vann which I can sympathize with a bit, but I just leave him in the party with Penelo.

Lord of the Rings Return of the King. nuff said it was purely awesome
yeah i remember it... it wasn't bad, it wasn't great either but it was the less bad there was for a LOTR game.

Advance Guardian Heroes. It's so cheesy, yet there's something about kicking 50 guys into submission without taking a hit.

-- Spider-Man 2 (PSX) -- poor missions, but the first was so short this gets by on Neversoft's enthralling Spidey mechanics alone
-- Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire -- every type of gameplay in it is shallow; none outstay their welcome, and the game's short
-- Star Wars: Obi-Wan -- trite, but plays like a breezy Jedi Knight mission pack
-- Mario Party -- lame, but as a party game its relative favouring of newcomers makes it popular
-- Conker's Pocket Tales -- interesting in a 1987 Zelda kind-of-way if you're not turned off by its spareness

um, probably Lego Star Wars 2. I thoroughly enjoyed that game. It has the edge on Lego Indy on a couple of points, like how you can deflect enemy lasers with your lightsabre, and some levels, like Hoth and the Death Star, where both players can have their own vehicles, even though the fixed camera for both players makes the Lego Lucasarts collaborative projects perfect for losing friends.

What i miss is the ability for your mates to be able to pop into your vehicle and ride shotgun with a shotgun or something, because as has already been said, the fixed camera makes it an absolute nightmare, even if you do manage to find vehicles for both players.

Oh and also, I loved both Fable and Trine, rare examples of RPG's that are more action to less spreadsheet math boring eyestrain.

King Kong
(admittedly this wasn't a buy as I got it bundled with the PS2 but I really loved this game, it was great fun)
I agree. I liked the King Kong game quite a bit, aside from the fact that it was too short and had zero replayablity.
King Kong was unexpectly good. And to think I borrowed it on a whim when in the library.

Also, I didn't think Plants Vs. Zombies would be fun. Turns out I was wrong.

Lord of the Rings: The Third Age

Easily one of the stupidest ideas ever to have been created. I don't think it even recieved that much attention, from my recollection. But easily one of the greatest games of all time! The story (after you get over the fact that you're the fellowship of the fellowship follower's on a quest to warn them of some impending doom) was very solid, the game mechanics are superb, and nothing beats playing "Evil Mode" where you go through various battles in the chapter you just completed fighting as the bad guys. And, you guessed it, this means you play as bosses too! Gimmie some more Bahlrog any day!

No one else seems to like Kororinpa: Marble Mania for the Wii, but it's one of my favorite games!

And, even though the thread isn't really about this, it's what I thought when I first saw it, so dammit I'm adding it! InFamous (though most people praised it) didn't really have me all that excited. I beat Assassin's Creed 2 before even touching it, but I must say that I'm really impressed, and might actually enjoy it more than AC2.

Lessee?

I actually thought Sacred 2: Fallen Angel would be horrible, but I loved it. It was like Diablo, but console form! And rather easy to slaughter enemies. :D

And crap... I actually enjoyed Two Worlds. Though it was fraught with fail and suck, I still enjoyed it.

I managed to enjoy Robotech Invasion a little bit. I was only playing the game because, as a sucker for Robotech (too much nostalgia there), I failed to do my research. After spending $16 I felt I should put my money to some use. Despite all its flaws, I did find some redeeming features in it. (In my darkest moments,I even consider replaying it- if only because I'm out of money to spend on games right now.)

Demon's Souls.

I thought the combat looked like garbage through videos, but then I got my hands on it and played it like 4 times in a row. Partly for trophies, and partly because it was so damn fun.
Amazingly, me too.

The combat looked terrible, the enemies looked slow and sluggish and it made me feel like it would be a survival horror game with fucked up controls.

It then turned out to be my runner up for game of the year.

2Moons. Something about the ease of just killing things. I guess I'm just bored from all the Guild Wars pregame setups.

CoD MW2. It looked like your average shooter and I was listening to all of the "anti-hype" people were spewing about it for a long while, so I really didn't think that it would be good. I was wrong.
