That's called isolationism, it doesn't really work out so well. The death camps of World War 2 weren't affecting America, Australia or Canada, should we have let the German culture 'rule itself'?

Germany invaded other countries and basically did all kinds of shit. Saudi Arabia, for all their woman hating faults, aren't doing anything wrong to the people outside their own country... well apart from gifting the world some of it's most dangerous terrorists but meh, they have oil, and didn't piss off Dubya.

The news says this woman in Saudi Arabia was gang raped 14 times and, while the men were all trialed and convicted, she is now being sentenced to 200 lashes and 6 months in jail for participating in a sexual activity.

Strange, since I never knew being gang raped was defined as "participating."

Also, while it's not in this particular link, I read this woman also fell pregnant. Which is one the reasons she had her punishment increased from 100 lashes to 200.

Frankly, this sort of thing is atrocious, and shows the horrible outcomes of having a government so heavily influenced by religion. Not to mention extremist religious rulers.

Now don't be mistaken and assume I'm anti-thiest, I'm not. But I belief no government or court should be influenced by religious views and instead just do what is fair and just.

This is not just.

In saudi, women in this situation are usually stoned to death. I think the only reason she's getting off this lightly is that the men were tried and convicted. This is very rare, women are usually blamed for 'bringing it on themselves' by 'tempting' the men.

Just what i was about to say, but a day earlier.

I'd think while being stoned to death is a horrific way to die, it would still be better to be dead than to live in such circumstances, considering she has probably been left with a mark to show she has been "tainted" in some way.

While it was a sort-of theocrazy, it was based on the nordic, not the christian religion.
The only reason the NSDAP didn't kick out every last christian priest was the reason that most germans were christians, thus having a good connection to the church it was used as a way to appease and govern the masses.
