didn't notice the rp had started, dang it, treecko is taken
Dusty's hand hovered over the shiny surface of the pokeballs, the deep brown gaze of the professor borring into the back of his head. Dusty quikly snatched up the ball on the farthest right, held it high above his head and over-dramatically said, "After getting here late, and after much delliberation because there are no treecko's left, I've chosen... Squirtle!" Sam then pressed the button on the pokeball, enlarging it from the size of a golfball to the size of an orange before a beam of white shot out, releasing a Squirtle. There was a silence in the lab, broken by the schoffing of a young lab assisstant before everyone got back to work. Dusty then walked up to Elm and said, "Could I get a blue pokedex!" said Dusty, suddenly sounding very child like.

One of the aides came up to Dusty, "Excuse me, but the Proffessor is going over something with some of his assistants at the moment and he will be prepared to give out the pokedexes momentarily. In the meantime, will you please wait outside, perhaps you can speak with some of your fellow trainers" he said calmly yet firmly as he went over and held the door open for him to leave.

Elm and his aide walked outside to see the group scattering across town. He smiled and nodded to his colleague. He clasped his hands and took in a deep breath.
"Listen up, kids!" He called, when all heads turned to him, "I want to test just how good of trainers you all are. Me and Davie challenge you guys to a double battle, any takers?"

Gar looked at Newt. There was an unmistakable gleam in both their eyes.
For the first time in a long time, Gar felt like showing off, and Newt was more than willing to run with that attitude.
Gar stood up with Newt on his shoulder and strode over quickly. "Certainly, Professor. Your name is Alex, correct? I am Gar, and this is Newt."

The Professor grinned and cleaned the lens of his glasses. The Professor released the Bulbasaur and his aide released the Charmander. They both stretched and yawned then scanned the area.

Matt looked around and shrugged "I guess I'll do that for you, Prof." he said as he walked over, Rojo staying close to his heels. "So I just kinda watch and declare when someones down for the count? Guess I can do that"
Matt looked over at the four trainers and called out "alright, Prof Elm and Davie there Versus Gar and Amy. 2.vs.2!"

"TreeeeeeCKO!" Newt hopped off of Gar's shoulder and took the twig out of it's mouth, holding it like a cigarette. It almost seemed nonchalant as it flexed it's muscular tail, ready for the first stages of battle.

"Newt, fall back and then use Pound." Gar's words, though unhurried and well pronounced, nonetheless left his mouth in plenty of time for Newt to jump back in an attempt to avoid the Charmander's clumsy attack. Using it's powerful tail as a spring, Newt catapulted itself into a forward somersault, bringing it's tail up and over it's head to smash into the Charmander.
Gar blinked. He hadn't expected that. He made a mental note that the Treecko was quite agile and capable of attacking from unexpected angles due to the strength of it's tail.

"Hmmm... What's going on over here?" muttered Gereld to himself. Him and Cindy had been chasing each other around for quite some time and had pretty much ignored the others that had showed up, but they were both pretty tired and decided to go back to the lab, and, when he arrived back, he was surprised to see a battle going on. Sitting down to watch, He placed Cindy, who was pretty much asleep, in his lap.
Matt was watching the battle go on in front of him, Rojo was nesting at his feet fast asleep. He couldnt help but envy her, he was still tired. "Hey there... it was Gerald, right? How are you taking to your pokemon there?" He asked

Give him a Growl to show you mean business" Davie suggested, and the Charmander nodded and turned to the Treecko. It opened it's mouth wide and let out a loud growl, intimidating Newt enough to lower it's attack slightly.

Newt might not have shown it, but it was slightly intimidated by the Charmander's growl. Noting that his partner was feeling a little apprehensive about attacking again, Gar considered his next move. "Newt, you aren't seriously intimidated by this punk, are you? C'mon, where's that Leer of yours!"
Gathering itself, Newt put the twig back in its mouth and acquired a look of calculated boredom mixed with supreme confidence as it gazed intensely at the Charmander, not giving an inch of ground, its arms crossed in front of its chest.
