After Sid had left with his new Pikachu, Lily and her Geodude rejoined her other Pokemon, who were panting with exhaustion. Dozens of weak, wild Pokemon lay beaten and unconcious around Eevee and Ghastly. She had a strange sensation of pride for her Pokemon, amazed at just how strong the two of them were.... And how much easier they would make her job in the long run. Recalling all three of them to their respective Pokeballs, Lily set off to Azalea's Pokemon Center.
She got herself a water when she arrived, and sat down alone, thinking hard abouther next match. 'Bugsy... He's obviously a Bug Pokemon user. But what is effective against Bugs?' she looked up at the ceiling, swirling the water in the bottle she was drinking from. 'Eevee is Normal, so it should be regularly effective.... Which is good, because it should be able to take a Pokemon down if they were roughly the same strength. Ghastly might do just as well, for as far as I can think, a Ghost Pokemon wouldn't have a distinct advantage or disadvantage when it came to Bugs. And finally, Geodude. It a bit of a stretch, rocks crushed bugs. Therefore, a Rock type Pokemon should have an advantage over a Bug. Those are pretty good odds,' she thought. 'Ill get them back after they're all recovered, then go over to the Gym.'
She then heard Alex's tenor voice ripping over others in the Pokemon Center. He was saying something about people saying otherwise, or something along those lines. Stirred from her thoughts, she looked to the source of the voice, seeing Sid with him. Alex was trying to appear tougher to the strangers in the Pokemon Center, and Lily was concerned about the young boy getting too close and dependent on the others. She sprung up from her chair and joined Sid. "You alright, Sid?" As he looked up at her, she saw that his normally red eyes were now bloodshot. Concern shot into her mind. What had happened in the few minutes that she was gone?
