Matt's mental victory parade quickly stopped in it's tracks as Alex looked over and asked him to change his mind. He moved his head over to get a look at him, and he did indeed seem deperate... but not enough to really make him change his mind, but to perhaps consider it.
"Why do you want that specific one? Dont you have a lot of other choices to go for?" He asked, deciding not to bring up how he had planned for this one, even prepared to give it a name.

He sighed and turned back to Matt. "Please! This Totodile is my chance is my chance to finally throw off the overbearing shackles of my mother! She's just unbearable!!!" He took in another breath "And...This one. I've always wanted to come out of professor Elms lab. Holding a Totodile preparing for an adventure, fighting with it, raising it, feeding it, getting new friends. My dream pokemon."

Matt took a deep breath and exhaled "alright, you can have it" he said plainly. Disapointment was something he's been accustomed to lately, and he didnt feel like shoving that on someone else.

Alex grabbed Matt's hand "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" He hugged him and enthusiastically grabbed the ball. "Come on out, Totodile!"

The little blue croc shot out and latched itself onto Alex's leg, he screamed. "OH MY GOD, THAT HURTS!!! BUT IT IS SO WORTH IT!!"

"Then that leaves just you and Gar. So what would you like?" Elm asked to Matt and took another sip from his coffee.
Alex managed to pry the Totodile from his leg. He set it down. "So you're a guy, right?"

"I guess so" Matt said as he walked up to the table to choose his pokemon. Not really sure what he wanted now he just picked one at random without looking to see what he chose.
"Okay, let's see what I got" he said as he released it and saw... a Torchic. Which yawned and looked around lazily before seeing that it was chosen and getting up and taking a few steady steps torwards Matt and looking up at him expectantly.

Alex walked over holding Cecily like a cat. She seemed to enjoy it "Cute pokemon, Matt. That's a... Torchic! If I'm not mistaken it evolves into Blaziken, A fire fighting type." He snapped his fingers. "What are you thinking of naming it?"
Matt glared over at Alex before looking down at the little chicken staring up at him, he didnt know how to feel about the thing. While it certainly wasnt a Totadile it had a certain... appeal to it. Maria would get a kick out of it should she see it.
