Honestly I don't understand soccer (football for you annoying non Americans =P) you play one and a half hours for 1 point? Talk about a snooze fest. That's just my opinion.
Everyone's got a sport they hate for that very reason, there's always something you find boring because you're just not involved in it.
For example, I tried to watch baseball once; suicide actually seemed like a viable option for that half hour I could stand it.

For all of those who watched the match on ABC the British announcer was a biased, arrogant ass. Take that!
That's because British people treat football matches like a matter of life or death. I wish America would have won, would that mean England would be out of the world cup? The earlier everyone over here shuts up about it the better.

meh, USA played average at best throughout the match, they had like a couple of proper shots throughout the entire match.

they only got a point from a flukey goal, yet all the American fans seem to think they owned the entire thing and won it.

i love the coverage on ITV, where they interviewed an American fan who had gone to South Africa to watch USA, yet he could only name 3 people on the USA first team.

maybe he should have stayed at home and watched Handegg.

I was happy with the result, but my mom was pissed (She's a huge soccer fan, raised in England, so... yeah) I am glad for the English Goalie that England didn't lose, otherwise he would probably have become the English Bill Buckner.

Well the usual media tripe will follow this.

If England had won we would have never heard the end of it, now they have drew they still somehow have somthing to go on about.

Im just happy they lost in the rugby aswell

As an Englishman who couldn't give two craps about football, I'm kinda pleased the USA did well. Goes to show after all our bitching and moaning about how they don't play "real" football, they can actually put on a half-decent game.

... I'm guessing. I didn't watch the match. Maybe USA played really well, maybe England played really poorly. Maybe we should get off our pedestals and admit that we don't actually have a good team anymore and we're not going to win the cup (ever?) again, instead of all this "we weren't at the top of our game" nonsense. Maybe (just maybe) football doesn't matter.

Not a sports fan... but Yay America? We kick ass regardless of which sport we play? Even if it's a sport we don't really play, don't like, and we only got a tie through accidents?

I don't know about you guys but I found this picture to be both depressing and hilarious at the same time:

When did a draw automatically mean america wins?

Was a good game, pretty gutted that England didn't do better. Well played USA.

Looking forward to the Germany vs Australia game tonight though!

I dont watch much football, but i know enough to know that england failed yesterday, but as always we'll probably stumble through in a blind stupor to the second round or some kind of final like we do with everything else. the US was lucky, and considering what players are available to us (england) it raises serious questions as to why hesky was on and not crouch who seems to have been doing quite well

Hopefully England will win this World Cup. I'm not fully English, but by golly, James Corden has really rallied up the entire country for this!

A lot of americans seem to complain about the low scores in football(not soccer).

Have the people over there never heard the phrase "Quality over quantity"?
