I'm kinda unintentionally cheating with this one as Im currently sitting on a couch with a very sturdy, sharp and pretty dagger. In truth, my house has at least one weapon in every room I'd wager.

Don't worry, you're on the escapist, about 45% of us are armed to the teeth for a variety of reasons.

OT: Swiss army knife in my pocket, a hand-and-a-half sword (as in it's built to be wielded one handed and two handed.) racked up above my window, a can of deodorant and a lighter (I don't smoke, but hey, they're handy.) and some unpadded weights.

Pretty good, but it's a shame I'm not downstairs, my shotgun is propped against the wall.

I've got a display knife which would fall apart on the second blow but looks pretty intimidating. A functional knife which looks less intimidating but will more likely kill. My first choice would be my hammer though, easier to get a stopping blow in and I would be less likely to kill them.

Not that I'm particularly worried about killing someone who breaks into my home, doing that negates your right to live.

Right outside my door and less than 1 metre from where I sit now I have a gladius. So lots of stabbity goodness for this geek.

Above the telly there's also a katana, wakizashi and a tanto so if the gladius buys me 5 seconds I can reach those as well ^_^

If a burglar was to go into my room I would through my suitcase at them to have them stumble backwards and then close the door and knock my bookshelf over so they have a harder time getting in. I would then get to work assembling my bow. I wouldn't use it if I had the choice but I would in self defense.
