I think the fact that the community they trusted pirated there game to oblivion, gives them the right to do such. I see no problem with it. This accusation is pretty false anyway but I thought I'd point it out nonetheless.WaaghPowa said:Even Crytek, the development company behind one of the best looking games for pc, seem to be going the "Console first, fuck pc" route if what I experienced in the Crysis 2 demo really carries over to the main release.
"Community they trusted" Sounds funny to me. The console community should be treated the same if that were the case, between people modding xbox's, Wii's and Flash cards on DS's to pirate games and that whole fiasco with the Sony root key. These days with steam, it's very likely that console games see more pirating than pc.icame said:I think the fact that the community they trusted pirated there game to oblivion, gives them the right to do such. Uhh... what? You seriously don't understand why people think the version with extra content is better?AMMO Kid said:I don't get why everyone thinks that because of mods and content that PC is better either... I love my 360

Thank you, that was the article I was referring to in my earlier post.Zero_ctrl said:You should probably read this. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.231292-Valve-Xbox-Live-Rules-are-a-Train-Wreck?page=1]
And Live has a limit to how many patches you can apply to a certian game. Do you see how much they patch TF2 lolBags159 said:Because Microsoft would make them charge money for them and they don't want to was their reasoning.Windown95 said:Yeah, I'm a big fan of Valve. Maybe my favorite, but the console ports are lame, I mean why can't they give them the TF2 Updates,
well said, and welcome to the escapist.MrLlamaLlama said:This may, very possibly be the only post I ever, ever make here... And yes I've just linked up with my FB account. However, I feel the need to voice my opinion.
Think for a moment about all the PC players who get lumbered with *chooses words carefully* bad... no, crappy PC ports of games. Valve seem to be one of the only developers really pioneering it for the PC crowd out there and for that I salute them.
This is how PC gamers feel about console ports. Every day, even with AAA releases. Hell, we're probably going to feel it with Crysis 2, which was ours in the first place. If we can deal with EA, Activision, Bioware, Rockstar, Ubisoft, Codemasters and alot of the other developers delivering us substandard ports and support, maybe the guys at Valve can be forgiven.don't short change us if you know for a fact that you cannot provide the same level of quality for us as you could a PC gamer.
Alas. Off into the shadows I go...
This is one of many, MANY reasons I just haven't gone with the new gen consoles.silver wolf009 said:![]()
The Valve logo, an icon of gaming, with such great games as Half-life 1 and 2, Left 4 Dead, and of course the famous Counterstrike. One of the greatest game companies ever to have put games onto the market, with excellent stories, hidden secrets, and characters who faces will never be forgotten.
My first exposure to valve was in The Orange Box, so I am a bit of a late bloomer here. I played it, took on the combine with a crowbar, taunted as a scout, and loved Portal of course (Who here really hasn't? Speak now or forever hold you silence.) and kept it in my library for many years after. My next game was L4D. I love zombies, and when I heard that Valve was taking a crack at the genere, I was overjoyed. When it came out, I was overjoyed! I loved the hunter and being the Tank was pure excitment.
But with all of this, after all the fun I have had, I just have one request for Valve, stop. Just stop it now. Stop making games.
Perhaps I should clarify that, stop releasing games for the 360 and PS3. (Hold your venom PC elitist, so what if I am a 360 player and not a PC player, I deserve no less quality for my money.)
This really stemed from L4D and TF2 mainly, I loved every second of L4D, it was dark, gritty, and funny at the same time, but the problem isn't with Valve on this, it's with Microsoft. (Again, hold you venom.) We cannot download custom maps, nor can we make them. And TF2 was great! It was an excellent shooter and was a knee slap all the way through, but you never released downloads for it. (Keep holding that venom...) In the end though, I just ended up feeling cheated of my money.

Valve, I cannot help but feel abandoned. I know it is not your fault for the hinders that get placed on your games on consoles, but don't short change us if you know for a fact that you cannot provide the same level of quality for us as you could a PC gamer.
And before you begin, I hold no ire towards Valve, simply the way their games get treated with consoles in mind.
What about the original logo with the valve in the guy's eye? (Also the briefcase in Pulp Fiction was originally supposed to hold the diamonds from Reservoir Dogs but that got cut. Knowing useless things is half the battle!)Vault101 said:unrelated but in regards to the logo...
