I like cheese and peanut butter too much.
Peanut butter is not vegan? What, do they use animal fat?
No they use butter :p

You can't eat any dairy as a vegan
Peanut Butter's totally vegan.

And actually Malicious, there's been research which has shown the total opposite;
"Even milk's main selling point--its presumed ability to strengthen bones and stop osteoporosis--snaps like a twig. In the 12-year Harvard Nurses' Health Study of 78,000 women, heavy milk drinkers actually suffered more fractures than those who consumed little or no milk."
It's in the link I posted.

And yeah PETA are awful, they kill more animals than they save and filed tax deductable status for a giant freezer they used to store animal corpses.

Wow, just wow. They go against the very thing they stand for, just to nag the public and guilt trip people who like to wear leather? Also isn't using all the parts of a cow to create leather clothing and food a good thing?

I tried the vegetarian thing for a while, more out of a sense of curiosity than anything. But I wouldn't bother going out of my way again.

Animals eat other animals, we're no better than any other carnivorous animal. The only difference is we think feeling wrong about it makes us better. Tell that to the lion when it rips your arm off when you try to feed it tofu.
To quote you on your example of the lion.

Yep, cows that are bred for meat aren't used for leather though, they're bred to have good meat, not good leather, and vice versa.
I'm vegan and I'm proud to not be a stuck up hypocrite in a pair of non-degradable plastic boots.
I'm much more into human rights than animal rights, the sympathy flows much nicer.

Why would I ever want to? We're designed to eat meat, and most of the meat we eat has been bred for us to eat. Cows and chickens are the product of thousands of years of selective breading, resulting in the greatest convenience on the planet.

I don't eat fish though, as we're hugely overfishing as is.
We're not designed to eat the amount of meat we do eat, our bodies can not digest the meat quickly enough to remove all the useful nutrients & minerals. We're designed to have a greater amount of grain/fruit/vegetable. Our bodies break these down a lot more easily & quickly.

If i turned vegan, then my source of protein would be reduced to protein tablets, and soya protein based foods, which taste horrible.

I would never do it and don't care if other people are vegetarian or vegan, unless they start giving me shit for eating meat.

I'm a chef at my Chinese takeaway. We have soya protein foods made to represent king prawns, chicken, beef and pork. The texture is horrid and the taste barely resembles what it's supposed to be. We don't make the soya protein food, it's purchased from a supplier, we just cook it.

Imo, celery tastes like crap as well but that doesn't mean I'm unimaginative and awful at cooking.

I love meat too much to ever give it up
*nuzzles steak* I looove you. Yes I dooo

Anyway, message to vegans, if a cow isn't milked every morning they are in INTENSE pain by noon. And they usually have to be milked twice a day, too.

My room mate last year was a strict vegetarian, and he dated a vegan girl. They both thought I was disgusting because I ate a kielbasa sausage when I went with them to dinner. Furthermore, she refused to wear leather, and dislike that I wore a leather jacket.

I don't have anything against them for their lifestyle choice, but I personally could never even delve into the vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. I like meat too much to willingly be a vegetarian, but I could handle it better than being a vegan under doctor's orders. Veganism, with its lack of anything in the way of eggs, butter, or dairy alongside meat would just not make life possible for me. Worse yet, there are vegans who are also on gluten-free diets by choice.

What are your thoughts? Would you ever do it?

Or are you a vegan? Share your experiences on what made you make that choice.
Well eating dairy IMO is worse than eating meat, freaky dairy eating people, ITS CALLED BEING WEANED PEOPLE :p

Having a Vegan ex so having more or less lived like one for awhile (and out of habit, not out of anything ethical, half live like one now), I can say it is very very easy living a vegan life, it takes a bit getting use to, but once you do it isn't hard. Those who say "they cant live without such and such" are such retards, grown up in this massively consumer society and need to look in the mirror. People who think you cant eat good food on a vegan lifestyle are also idiots (and need to learn to cook), it is strange but food tastes better without the meat in it, because meat is such an over powering flavour and texture that it becomes the focus of most dishes (same with dairy) so if you take these things out, food becomes a hell of a lot more interesting!! No to mention you can find a whole heap of no-dairy ?dairy? items around now days, from awesome ice creams (you cant go past butter pecan or the chocolate brownie almond from turtle mountain) and ?buddhist? meats can be scarily taste like the real counterparts :|

What I hate is people like yourself that make these topics for no real reason, if your curious what people think about a topic, YOU HAVE THE INTERENET IN FRONT OF YOU go find some information on it. Not to mention these posts area a dime a dozen so use the SEACH BAR next time. Making topics like this make you just as bad as preachy vegans...and I hate preachy vegans >.<

I might as well be a carnivore if I didn't eat salad, bread, rice, or anything that is not green.

Whether you are an evolutionist, or religious, animals are there to be eaten. I love animals, but I would eat my hamsters if necessary, and I love my hamsetrs. Especially on toast :)

I am a vegan :-D so naturally therefore i do like it :p. the lazy appraoch to answer the why question is to link to peta so here it is: http://www.peta.org/

Basically veganism is my passion and i wouldn't give it up for anything, despite everyone i know thinking i'm nuts for being one and being bombarded with the same questions everyday. I love animals and don't think they are on this earth for our own personal use so we should treat them fairly. Btw there are fake dairy products which help.
Ummmmm... you guys do know that it's natural and even healthier to eat meat. Plus we are animals, if you say animals aren't made just for us to eat and use for dairy products and clothing.
1) tell that to every single person in the old ages

2)Hitler was a vegetarian so therefore anything that doesn't have meat in it's diet is EVIL

3)animals eat animals, it's natural

4)Then how do you explain the pig? Bacon, Pork Chops, Ham, basically every single amazing meat in the world. (excluding beef, steak, and lamb)

I'm a pescedarian myself. I eat fish, but not meat.
I could kiss you. You know that? You are officially THE first person I have seen describe their dietary lifestyle like that i.e. properly.

I have been driven to the brink of insanity by a LOT of people who say the following:

"I'm a vegeterian but I eat fish." AARRRGGHHHHHH!
It gets worse when I counter with "No, you're not a vegetarian, if you eat fish aswell that makes you a pescedarian"
To which they reply "Nuh uh, I'm a vegetarian."
*bang*

OT: Funnily enough although I don't really eat that much meat(still a bit) I don't think I could be a vegan. There's a whole world of wonderful food that I'd be cutting myself off from. However, I'm not one to judge others, they choose to be celery suckers, that's up to them, as long as it makes them happy.

Now excuse me, I have to go and listen to Pig Destroyer while sitting on my leather sofa next to my bear skin rug, admiring the deer heads mounted above the fireplace while wearing my leather jacket and boots, mole-skin vest, genuine leopard skin trousers and ivory necklace while eating some veal.
