That kind of do gooder vegan is actually extremely ignorant.brtshstel said:My room mate last year was a strict vegetarian, and he dated a vegan girl. They both thought I was disgusting because I ate a kielbasa sausage when I went with them to dinner. Furthermore, she refused to wear leather, and dislike that I wore a leather jacket.
I don't have anything against them for their lifestyle choice, but I personally could never even delve into the vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. I like meat too much to willingly be a vegetarian, but I could handle it better than being a vegan under doctor's orders. Veganism, with its lack of anything in the way of eggs, butter, or dairy alongside meat would just not make life possible for me. Worse yet, there are vegans who are also on gluten-free diets by choice.
What are your thoughts? Would you ever do it?
Or are you a vegan? Share your experiences on what made you make that choice.
"How can you eat that burger? Don't you know a cow died to make that!?"
Yes... But I didn't see it happen so I don't care.
Yet these vegans will chow down on fruit and vegetables... Where do you suppose that produce comes from? FARMS! Where do you think farmland comes from? After felling forests and land clearing. What do you think farmers put on their crop to keep it protected? Pesticides, insecticides and all manner of chemicals. How about when it rains or the irrigation is on, where do you think all those nasty as shit chemicals go? Into the rivers and oceans of the world my dear little vegan friend.
A tonne of rivers and waterways around the world are screwed majorly or near it, because of chemicals from farms.
There was a case in Florida where pesticide runoff into the water was causing the fish to have insanely high levels of a particular chemical. The alligators who ate these fish became sick, as in, their brain ceased functioning and they literally turned into zombies. They floated around, couldn't breath, eat, walk or co-ordinate themselves either. As a result that river's ecosystem went straight down the toilet.
And you'll see similar problems like this, algae, polluted water, high toxic levels, etc. All because of run off from farms, because the farmer needs to keep a good crop so he can live. Now the little vegans will shed a tear for a cow being killed for their steak, but they are clueless that even eating fruit and veg isn't exactly eco-friendly either.
Unless you frolick out into the rain forest and pick bananas with the urang utans personally, you're still not helping the environment.
So you may as well just have a balanced diet without the need to take iron supplements (or else you get seriously sick). You can eat meat and fruit/veg without murdering all animals and polluting the world. The vegans who think they're so high and mighty and eco-friendly are just short sighted.
