There's been a lot of let downs for me, but that only started when I became aware of the gaming media and started paying attention to all of these upcoming games that are supposedly supposed to be YOUR NEXT GOD! But the truth is games are far more enjoyable to play when you have no expectations at all, even more so when you expect them to be crap. For example, when I was just a kid the only video games I could play were ones that I could rent, so every new game I tried out was a totally uninformed purchase so I had no idea what I was getting, except for the box art (though I instinctively avoided sport games and racing games for some reason). The result was, when I got a crap game so what? Its 5 bucks and it works doesn't it? And whenever I played a good game I was UBER TO DA MAX OVERJOYED. Point being hype kills games for most people, IE halo 3, I can barely look at that game
And fact of the matter is 90% of EVERYTHING is crap, including video games.
