"Manly" in my book is synonymous with stuck-up brainless ignorants that uses their "parts" rather than their mind in order to decide what best to do. In other words, people who talk like that might want to check up on what else that term implies about themselves. ;P
You mean like those guys that jumped off a 70 foot cliff into a shallow, rocky river? The second one even watched the first get horribly injured before jumping and yet still did it anyway.

Ot: Remind them that's there's a difference between manly and having the most basic intelligence.
Yeah, I was talking about those guys. ;P

That's one of the dumbest things I have ever heard...
Good thing I live in Germany and our dumbass population is lower.
Most of my friends game, so there's no problem!
You live in Germany? Awesome! People are supposed to be extremely smart there.

OT: I've encountered a few of these. The best part about being in the right is that you get to be smug about it.

Example: One day a large, jock type on the football team poked his head into the computer lab I was working in and declared loudly that everyone who was on a computer would be a virgin forever. Later I heard that he got hit by a virus and lost all the pictures, videos and school notes on his computer because he thought he didn't need anti-virus protection. Karma is a beautiful thing.

So ignore them. It will be to their great displeasure later in life when they have to go get tech support because they don't have the wherewithal to fix a simple software bug or driver problem themselves. More money for the people they so loudly mocked.

Some people like sports, others like games. Neither is right and neither is wrong. Being a "man" solely for liking sports, however, is wrong.

Said person has either adopted a stupid personality for the equally stupid average listeners and/or has a tiny metaphorical penis, either way it has proven that it has the social skills of an undead newt.
I don't consider machoness to be a fault, but I would point out that more than a few video games feature manly pursuits (see every FPS ever.) If you can watch manly sports, then you can play manly video games.
Why did you quote my response to the OP? Anyways I was saying that the fault was the underlying insecurities of the person using "machoness" as an excuse for having a blind bias of how things have changed in the world.
Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant the "more than a few video games feature manly pursuits" thing as a possible response to the "I like girls" guy. I wasn't trying to indict you or anything like that.

''You want manly? Come down to my crotch and I'll show you something manly.''

Or ''And this is my cue to leave. I don't like wasting time with insecure twits with tiny dicks.''

Or the ever-classic wanking motion of the hand and calling the guy a tosser or wanker. Whichever you prefer.

Well you could beat them to a bloody pulp and scream "Who's the man now dog?"

Or you could just stop socializing with them. If they think everything your into is crap then i don't see why your still friends with them. You clearly don't have anything in common and there judging your worth as a person based on you having different likes then you.

So there's this guy on some radio show I listen to who, whenever anything that involves video games(or animation, comics, sci-fi, fantasy, or whatever remotely related), is mentioned, he always answers with...

"I don't watch/play/read that stuff... I like girls... I like sports... I like ESPN..."

Basically, everything else not sports related or involves real women to this guy is not manly... its all kids stuff...

People in my daily life are starting to say similar lines and its starting to piss me off...

So, Besides ignoring them (or turning the radio off), What is a good response to people who think that everthing you like is not "Manly"?

How would you respond to these "manly" people?
Girls who play video games are hot? ^_^ Also, anime girls, especially cosplayers, usually enjoy role-playing and dressing up in other venues, if you catch my drift. -_^

Manly in my dictionary means a guy who cares for his loved ones and will protect them and love them with all his strength.
But your definition goes by mine as an asshole.

But I like video games and being a nerd and if she doesn't like that then she can walk out, because that's who I am.
But hey she's a movie nerd so we're fine n_n

Just tell them to fuck off, it pisses me off as well

Seriously, no witty comebacks, just say outright "Fuck off"

EDIT: Either that or call them a "duck-shitting fagbear"

Just don't say anything; people like that probably aren't smart enough to understand what you're saying.

I'd call your definition being a "Good Man".

Your right!
Damm!
That fits me, I would defend my loved ones with everything I have.

LOL just laugh it up and at how closed minded the guy is trying to sound all tough.
Stupidity doesn't need a response so you kinda already won :D
