Oddworld: Abe's Odyssee - Propobly the most difficult platformer ever made
My dad bought me that game when I was 11, not sure what he was thinking although I absolutely love it, never got very far though. Absolutely love the story though.

Certain bandages in Super Meat Boy have driven me up the wall in the dark world.

I've put down a bunch of games I haven't enjoyed, I don't think any were because it was "too difficult" though.

Super Meat Boy. Absolutely loved the game, beat the final boss and that was it. The bonus levels are just too damn hard.
This only I didn't defet the last level where you save that pink bit** because my computer restarted for no reason and I was so pissed that I just gave up

Gynoug.

It was voted hardest game on the megadrive way back.

Don't let this early gameplay fool you, it gets brutal.

Metro 2033.
I just suck at it, really badly.
Just get the Hellsing, it wins the game.

I wanna be the guy, obviously. And ninja gaiden. I've gotten to the last level but I will never beat it. Oh, and Ghosts & Goblins and Battletoads.

Ninja Gaiden 2. I made it to the last boss, but spent my money on stupid shit, so I could never beat it. I saved, so I was stuck with no heal items and I had to kill 3 bosses. I've yet to beat it, I doubt I'll ever try again.
Oh yeah I forgot about NG2. I think I tried twice on the final boss and gave up because it was too annoying. Besides there was no motivation to beat it; I don't care about achievements or the hilariously bad story, and all but a handful of the bosses in NG2 were extremely cheap. I had way more fun fighting regular enemies, so why force myself through another mega-cheap, unfun boss battle when there are no regular enemies to fight afterwards?

Final fantasy X. Why? I didn't like the game very much.... I grew sick of it at the end, when you're in sin. I then started to skip every single monster and still annihilated that queer ass wimp Seymour. Then I kept skipping monsters untill I came to the final boss. The whole game was too easy up till now (except yunalesca), so I thought I could kill him easy. I was wrong. He could attack twice each turn, almost killing me each time. As soon as I killed those pagodas, they started spinning again immediately the next turn. I stood no chance and kept dying in no time, 3 times. Not wanting to grind, I gave up on that damn game.
Perhaps its just because I'm a massive sad FF fan and am familiar with all the associated bullshit, but I find this absolutely shocking. I don't want to be nasty, but Yu Yevon is the easiest final boss in the entire series- you don't even have to grind up your levels to one-shot him.
Whenever people bring up the "what was the most disappointing boss fight" type thread, it's always, without fail, my answer.

The attack you need is called Zombie Attack; it's available to Auron first. Then you can sit back and watch it kill itself- no further effort required on your part.
Erm... I'm pretty sure you're pulling my leg, because you know the Yu yevon fight is unlosable because you get auto revived, I couldn't possibly lose there. I also don't consider it a boss. I was talking about the boss before it. Tidus' daddy.

I Wanna Be The Guy. I've been lucky enough to have never played Battletoads, I was a violent kid when that game came out, so I would have broke something.

Yeah, no one really considers Yu Yevon a boss fight. Just an odd way to end the story in a more involved way.

ArmA. I swear, when the story is that you're playing a fully trained professional soldier, and you fail the shooting tutorial three times in a row because it won't hit a target 20ft away while prone... fuck it.

Psychonauts. I love the game, but the difficulty curve near the end of the game makes it astonishingly hard, all of a sudden, and without warning.

Ninja Gaiden 2 was the first out of straight difficulty. Fuck that game. I will repeat... fuck that game... I gave up several times on the resident evil remake; I could only play it for a couple hours before becoming emotionally drained and I couldn't figure out where to go. Aside from that, I never had any health or ammo. After trading the game in and rebuying for the third time, I sat down and just did it. Now RE is one of my favorite games.

Was it harder than Exoddus? I found that one mostly pretty easy but never played Odyssee. It is possibly my favourite game of all time, though.
Odyssee was much harder for me because it didn't have quick-save, only check points. Sometimes you had to redo several difficult sections in a row.
