Left 4 dead 2- Dark carnival barns Expert, We had died a few times at the crescendo. Anyways we were fighting our way through the horde. The other 3 get in capped but I managed to get into the safe room and shut the door. I look around, nothing there so I go and pick up a medkit and well I get attacked by a spitter and a charger that spawned in there... We all quit after that...

There has been many times when I've done something, and had to repeat stuff. Though the one time that sticks out in my head would have to be the time I was playing Azure Dreams on the PSone. This is a game where you go through a tall tower collecting stuff. It's pretty challenging, and there isn't a lot of room for error especially in the higher levels. Well after a few hours making it to the 37th floor (3 floors away from the top) I decided to take a break. So I set my controller down on the top of the PSone and went up to get something to snack on. It was at that point I realized that the image on the TV stopped moving. You've probably already guessed this, but yeah, the action of setting the controller down on the PSone caused it to freeze my game. I ended up losing everything including an item that I was questing for ( a Medicinal herb). It's times like that when you feel you may need to take an extended break :/.

In Fallout 3 I voluntarily restarted after reaching level 13 or so in one playthrough, then realizing that I picked the wrong perks and I should redo things.
I had to do this as well in Oblivion. I had planned out the perfect lvl 50 character, only to find out at lvl 43 I had messed up. I didn't have to start from scratch, but had to get back to around lvl 35
How the hell do you fuck up a character in an ES game? Unless you were going for 100 all stats and leveled up block too many times. Anything else though and I am confuse.

As for me one that comes to mind, back in the day while I was playing Soulbringer I had just gotten the excalibur of the game and figured "Hey I've got the best god damn sword in the game I bet I can beat the fuck out of anything." Turns out 7 Winged Demons where a little too much to handle, I hadn't saved since the realm of the Fey (I think).

Oh yes. I have failed starting S.T.A.L.K.E.R. about three times now; the problem was I went around circa 1 to 2 hours in the game without saving at any point due to excitement/immersion/forgetfulness. Then, out of curiosity, I investigate some secluded area in the wilds and I'm hit with radiation sickness.

Since I hadn't gotten antirad/vodka at this point I then proceeded to run frantically to the next place where I could buy or just blindly kill someone for a medkit since I just used my last one on the run. I die and load from the last "savegame" and start the game all over again.

Maybe, just maybe, I will remember to save next time, so I can actually go on playing the game.

In Fallout 3 upon doing "The Waters of Life," my game kept randomingly freezing at the same place. I even cleared cache and tried to un & re- download an update - still nothing. I went back farther in a save point and it froze again in this same place. I was so mad. >.<

I actually wonder if it's because I cleared out the Jefferson Memorial and half of the other stuff I was supposed to face during end game.

In any case - I had to restart the game all over from scratch. My old save point (where it freezes) is still there because I have a shred of hope that it might work again LOL.
My FO3 is buggered too but differently, this time at the Lincoln Memorial, The slavers are dead but the dude and his band of run away slaves keep telling me to clear the way :/ All because I Ended up there before I met the run away slaves and killed em all (With my Lincoln Rifle no less... Irony) Not been able to sort that one even if I console command res the 2 main slavers there /sigh...

That makes me wonder... is there a PC Console command to complete the quest your on?

Another one: on Drakengard on some of the later missions when the enemies get cheaper and cheaper attacks, you spend 50 minutes just trying to finish one level and you die cause of those red shield guys (you know what ones if you played the game.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU--

I literally screamed out in rage.

Also, I was playing the first Star Ocean using an emulator (before the PSP port came out) and it crashed, freezing the game. Instead of loading the state, I accidentally saved the state instead of loading the state (an easy mistake to make mind you, they are right next to each other) and I haven't touched it since.

I had a similar thing happen at the end of the somewhat cool (great reward at the end) but rather frustrating quest, Agatha's Song. I had finally found the violin and sheet music in that hellish maze of a vault and had exited, and all I needed to do was fast travel back and accept my XP and sweet revolver, but the game froze in the middle of the loading screen leaving the vault every time. I managed to clear the caches and get it working, but I was pissed off for a while there.

Original Pokemon Blue version. I finally got my 150th mon (Cloyster, but I wanted it at 50 or some other obscene lvl so it knew Ice Beam) and showed it to my 5 year old cousin. In 15 seconds he manages to delete it.

My mother and aunt had to hold me back from strangling him.

Without if you're talking about the cloning Rare Candies with Missingno.

With if you're talking about just catching one (so technically I had 151).

Darksiders. The last and most frustrating chapel, with the incredibly annoying jump/portal puzzles. After completing it all (took me a whole Sunday afternoon) I go back to the angel dude to give my "job's done, now what" speech. Once there I think to myself "Hell, that took forever and I hated doing it, so I better save now". So I did. And accidentaly loaded an old saved game instead of simply going back to the game.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...

Well I was playing demons souls on and I.... accidentally stabbed the shopkeeper.... a lot. I swear it wasnt my fault though! My sword slipped! Unfortunately he was also the only one who sold firebombs which I needed to kill the first boss. That kind of sucked.
I read that as 'I was going to buy Demon Soul but accidentally stabbed the shopkeeper'

OT: This happened to me about a month ago, I was on Bioshock 2 in... I can't remember the area but it's where the orphanage is with the crazy priest as an end boss. I played for about and hour and saved... and it froze mid-save corrupting my file. Luckily I was using a 2-save strategy but replaying an hour of that level was a *****. I saved every 5 mins or so out of fear and about 2 hours later it froze mid save again (same level).

Side Note: Has anyone had a similar problem with that level on the 360? I want to interpret it as a sign that my 360 is packing up but no other game has that problem and it's just this level leading to me thinking that it's a problem with the disc.

Yeah I love Fallout 3 so much, I'm glad you were able to play through yours - I think I will try to clear the cache today. I pray for success once more.

Several times in valkyria chronicles espcially after doing the tougher boss missions (on a first play through) perfectly and switching off to take a break.
Exactly. Why didn't that thing immediately auto-save? It frustrated me soooooooo much.

So I was playing Twisted Metal 2 with Thumper and I was on the Hong Kong level. I had just beaten Dark Tooth (which is hard as you have to continue straight after the level). The mistake. I just fired a napalm into the wall right in front of myself with a sliver of health left and no extra lives. I died...in the space between blowing Dark Tooth up and the game actually ending. That was ARGH tastic. Same happened on Antarctica but it was actually the floor gave way when I was about to land the killing blow. Fudge.
