OoC: @Rosh Holy shit man! Didn't expect to see you RPing again! Good to see ya.

Laguna stepped back a little bit when Drayven shouted, but forced himself to calm down and answer. "I don't know. I don't really think anyone here does. All I know is that I just woke up here in a pitch-black room and a voice telling me to go fight people. I think everyone else here was abducted too."

Diana let the fire dissapate. "Fine. But you had best explain yourself."

A voice cut through the dark room as a doorway of light appeared. "Welcome to the Evilington Interdimensioanl Arena. Please, enter the door and enjoy your stay."

The woman covers her eyes as she growls more loudly, peaking out are two orbs of orange eyes. Thick red veins pop out slightly as they retract themselves back into her skin as her growling lowers.

Perhaps it is... dinner time? She slowly walks out of the room, eyes still darting around.

"It's just part of the viral and genetic enhancements that were produced when I was in the labs back in my world." James answered with a shrug, his tensed muscles relaxing as Diana stopped threatening to attack. "The vision is part of the changes that the infection produced. I can allow it to temporarily restructure them to see better in the dark and also to detect the virus in other people better. It restores them to normal once I clamp down on the virus again."

"And they do this simply to entertain the crowd out there?" Drayven asked Laguna.

"All of them and more besides. I don't know if you have TV where you come from, but imagne moving pictures of the battles being sent out so anyone can just hook up a screen and watch them." Laguna guestured to the screen in the lounge. "We're all famous gladiators wether we like it or not."

Diana stood silent for a moment. "...what's a virus?"

OoC: @Rosh Essentially, once the character walks out of the pitch blackness, they eneter a room which is whatever they feel most comfortable in. You have to describe it yourself.

Absolute darkness as a thread of red extends across the room, her eyes widen as she looks around. A sludgy mixture organic and metal litter around the floor. A world set ablaze in the distance as she takes another step into the darkness. A small sound of *swish*.

The two soldiers glanced at one another.

"Is that fear that I see in your face?" Aethion goaded Cas'Va. The latter made to retirt when Drayven silenced them both.

"I think that you two may be able to make use of this opportunity." He said. They both began to object at once.

"We cannot stay here! And abandon the estate? What of mother? This is no time to..."

"You would have us dance on the strings of the human filth that run this place? Have you no honour, or dignity? You should..."

"Enough! Both of you, you sound like petulant infants. Yes, we will try to find a way to return to where we belong. But for now, the chance to fight in such a place, under such harsh conditions would be a great test of your mettle. Aethion, you wish to protect our house and defend our name? Here you can put all the skills you have learned to the test. Cas'Va, if you truly wish to join with the Thalmor, then you will at least need to know that you can face an enemy in mortal combat. Whatever else the Thalmor may be, they are not cowards. Here, you have the chance to prove yourselves, both of you."

James tried to remember his secondary school biology lessons.

"Well, they're a kind of microscopic organism." He replied. They're a group all of their own and I can't say exactly what determines a virus from a bacterium, but the point is that these organisms can get into your body, where they multiply, and make you sick. Most diseases are the result of microorganisms like this."

OoC: @Rosh There's a corridor outside that room, leading to the lounge and the lockers.

"That's one way to think of it." Laguna said. "If you're stuck here, might as well try to make the best of it, meet new people."

Diana sat again. "Where I come from, illness is thought to be caused by filth and smells. The only real research going on is people trying to see if Deimonds can be used in different ways."

The black hair on the woman turns blonde as she removes her hoodie and whips it around her back.

Blasted Noble Phantasm... "I wonder who are the people that are going to taste my blade..." she whispered, another twisted grin on her face. She exits the room, and looks around, hoping to find something to eat... Or kill.

"Nah, bad smells can't make you sick, unless they're caused by chemical fumes. And filth usually causes it because it contains harmful microorganisms. How exactly are your people expecting diamonds to cure illness? That... that's a new one on me." James said, chuckling slightly at the thought process that must have led to the unlikely treatment.

OoC: I should probably clarify, that statment in black text in my last post? That was Laguna, not the voiceover talking to @Rosh's new character. Sorry for the mix up.
@Rosh: ...she is offically wearing less than Makoto. That's quite an achivement.

"Not to cure ills and wounds. We rely on herbs, bedrest, spiritual healing and Hol for that. But these..." Diana pulled a glowing crystal out of a belt pocket. "These gems, Deimonds, they allow the people of my city to control nature. Fire, wind, light, sounds, there are legends of some managing to use these to control storms. Those who spend time around them or train properly can do it without these gems. They can even be woven into our bodies to give us tenfold power. But no-one really knows how they work..."

@Gear: Maybe, i dunno... Not like she cares anyways.

The voices of a few people trailed down the hallway as Saber giggled glee to find these people.

"Huh. That is... pretty awesome." James said, looking closely at the crystal. "Needless to say, we don't have anything like that where I come from."

Drayven gestured to Aethion and Cas'Va.
"Perhaps you should go and find some suitable lodging for us." He said, and they left with a nod. Drayven turned back to Laguna.

"I am grateful for the help and advice you have given us." He said. "Tell me human, what is your name?"

"Laguna Loire." Laguna held out a hand to Drayven. "Glad I could help."

"They are only found under my home city, for the most part. Everyone there has some talent with them. I'm part of the city's militaray force. I've trained since I was fouteen years old to use these." Diaian put the crystal back in her pocket.

@Gear: Either way, Saber's just looking for a fight.

Saber saw Aethion and Cas'Va pass on by, giving them a rather moody face. Ignoring them for later, she peeked around the corner seeing James and whoever else was there.

Drayven shook Laguna's outstretched hand. The grip was firm, but not particularly strong. The High Elf's authority clearly came from some other quality.

"Perhaps we will speak again soon then, Laguna Loire."


James raised an eyebrow.
"That right? Funny, I didn't get the impression that you were in service. Do you mean as part of a standing army or a reserve or temporary force?"

OoC: @Rosh Well... the arena's kinda taken right now, and it will be until @Dot and @Knife finish their fight.

Laguna smiled. "Sounds good to me. But... mind if I just ask you something?"

"Only recently got out of training, but I have seen combat." She pointed to the tatoo on her face. It seemed to have a rougher texture than the rest of her skin and had a slight sheen to it. "This is my initiation mark. Ink laced with tiny, crushed Deimonds. I have more power than most civillians."

Looking around, Saber tried sensing their prana presence. Nothing happened as she groaned loudly, slumping against the walls near the lounge.

"Certainly. What is it that you wish to know?"

James looked a little closer at the tattoo, keeping a polite distance.

"Hey, that looks pretty good. Heh, I used to have a friend that was mad about tattoos. As well as just being mad. She'd go apeshit over something like that, even without the magic powers." He laughed to himself at the thought. "It's good that you can handle yourself in combat. Though if I may say, the way you conduct yourself with some of the others marks you as being pretty green from the start."

@Gear: Alright, just say a giant wall appeared halving the arena, so other people can actually fight. With the pace @Knife is posting, nobody will be able to do anything for too long.

Rex yawned a small bit as he walked into the lounge. He looked over at the fight and shrugged. She hasn't been throwing out spells at all? Why's she going easy on that dude?

"I've..." Laguna looked a little sheepish."...had some memory problems since I got here. I don't know why, but I'm having some touble remembering my past. But I'm fairly confident I've met someone like you before. Of your race I mean. I just... it was a girl, I remember that, think she was a mage, I'm not sure... know anyone like that? I'm sorry if I'm just wasting time, but I wanna know my own past, you know?"

"Well, I am the best out of the apprentinces. But for some reason, I was held back for years. Thes old fools in the council decided that I was not ready, that I was too reckless, that all I wanted was attention and glory. It is not my fault if I want my talents to be well known, is it?." Anger started to creep into Diana's voice.
