Maybe I'm missing something but: No horse tracker on the map/directional thing! I'm pretty sure it was present in Oblivion. Now I hate having no idea where my horse is when it wanders off.

I do miss being able to level my "S.P.E.C.I.A.L" stats like in Oblivion. Also I'm playing Skyrim on PC and the controls are so goddamn console-y >_<
As long as the horse isn't dead it should appear next to you when you next fast travel.

I'm more pissed there is STILL no follower marker on the map. I had the same problem in the Fallouts as in Skyrim. Can't figure out where the hell my follower is sometimes, and if I cannot find them but they aren't dead, then I can't tell them to leave if I want a new follower.

Ya know, I saw a poster on this thread, a few pages back, say that not liking Skyrim because you don't like dragons is an invalid reason (I'm paraphrasing). Well, isn't that true in reverse too? Liking Skyrim because it has "fucking DRAGONS" is just as invalid?

Anyway, the sarcasm stays unless you are a mod making the request.
Not really. Not liking a game because you dislike one creature in it is totally ridiculous; basing an entire distatse of a game on a single NPC? It's like saying you hate a country because you met one person from that country who was a dick (because people on the internet totally don't make illogical generalisations like that all the time).

Liking a game because it has something cool like fighting dragons is not the same. I seriously doubt people just bought the game because they wanted to glimpse a dragon and then went, "There's one, okay I'm done." No, they probably bought it because of the free-roaming map, the long replay value, and yes, to fight some "fucking DRAGONS," considering that was one of the selling points of the game to be able to fight dragons anywhere at anytime.
Yeah, I like double standards too.

No, Oblivion never had a horse tracker and now that you mention it, that is something they should have fixed in Oblivion but at the very least included in Skyrim.

So I am a troll with 1300 posts and you are not with 2 posts?
the number of posts has no value in arguments, debates, or make you anymore intelligent or knowledgeable then a guy with 5 posts. For all we know, just like most of your posts in this thread, you could have been just spewing out 1300 trolling/crap posts while people that don't post as often make maybe only 100 posts, but they are all quality posts.

quality>quantity
I think you missed the point. If I were really a troll I wouldn't have lasted this long.
What makes you say that? Many people here that have been banned had over 1k or 2k posts. The only posters that have been banned with less then that was spammers. Otherwise, people here would just get warnings and It would take quite a whole lot of warnings to get banned. You for example are already climbing up there. Your "opinion" is backed up with nothing while others here that have said otherwise have backed it up with facts while you are ignoring it. That is you trolling.
How do you back up an opinion? Anyway, I say you're a troll and I will report you for calling me a troll. I am sure the mods won't care one way or the other but you can't just go around calling people trolls because they have a different opinion.

I still wish that there'd be more Daedra in Skyrim; Daedra hearts are a ***** to find, and daedric weapons are even more of a ***** to forge.

I have never used the followers in either fallout or skyrim, mainly because of the escort mission and them dragging me into fights i know ahead of time I wont win. Why would somebody who requires an escort up and decided to attack a giant while the escort in atleast half a mile away and is clearly more focused on the road ahead? The Horse is the best follower, those things are so retarded they run straight into a fight with dragon and stand there face to face. Thats was how I was able to defeat them for a while, cost me 1000 gold each time but I got the soul atleast.

That and I have come to enjoy the moments when I realize I have bitten off more than I can chew and scream out loud "RUN AWAY!" monty python style. Thinkin about making a video of that happening with them screaming it as a sound effect. Would make me look like a wuss if the npc stayed behind while I hauled ass down a mountain....Im startin to think mI way to into my characters story ive made in my head, its not like the rest of the NPC's are going to make fun of me. Next character im creating, Brave Sir Robin!

Oooh, oooh, I know the answer to this one!

None! Oblivion is the reason that I didn't purchase Skyrim to begin with. I played Oblivion and it's one of the worst things that I've done to myself. It was boring, long, ugly and dull.

Skyrim is amazingly pretty, very funny (glitch wise. It rained Mammoth one day!) and well rounded.

Also, fucking DRAGONS.
Yes, dragons. Never seen those in a game before. That's quite a selling point.
In the case that Skyrim is better? Yeah it is.

Take your sarcasm somewhere else please :)

I'm asking because it's unnecessary. I can get a mod to ask you though or you can just not be a prick and get over it.

I stated my reasons for thinking Skyrim is better and I think that the Dragons make the game better. It's more challenging to try and fight a dragon and adds to the game.

Done now.

Skyrim's going to be better for one reason. Every reason it is worse than Oblivion (there are few, and I LOVED Oblivion) will be fixed with mods. Just wait a month ;)
People keep saying that mods will fix everything. You will be dissapointed, it will take years to get all the mods needed to fix all of Skyrims problems just like it took years with Morrowind and Oblivion. In fact, was UI on Oblivion every really fixed to be more like Morrowinds UI? I don't think so.
It' an elder scrolls game ... We'll be playing it for years anyway.

Could not have said it better myself.
Oblivion is great, but Skyrim is better in every meaning of the word. So, sorry you don't like it, but suck it up or don't play.

Well I guess I will admit that I miss being able to jump on people's roofs and viewing my character through a menu screen, everything else about Skyrim makes up for it though.

While I loved playing Oblivion, compared to Skyrim, it really hasn't aged that well.

Listen, I have almost 100 hours into skyrim, and I have beaten the entire campaign, and most of the side quests. The thing that really stood out to me is the simple fact that Skyrim lost the sense of humor that Oblivion had. In Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood, there were lots of fun ways to kill people, yet in this one, we have to just figure out a way to execute someone. There are no blood thirsty orcs talking about how they killed a little girl at her birthday party, only a Little girl Vampire.
However, I am often debating whether or not that skyrim had a more serious tone because the devs were trying to get across the point that in the 200 years that had passed since Oblivion, that things have not been going well, or if it was just laziness. If they were trying to make a point, they made it very well, and you really do get a sense while playing that life would probably suck living in Skyrim.

The one thing that Oblivion really has over Skyrim in my mind, is Sheogorath. I friggen love that guy. you might be able to fight dragons in Skyrim, But do you get to make it rain flaming dogs on a small village? nope.

Sheogorath is in skyrim though. He's not as entertaining (no raining dogs), but the wabbajack is better than ever.

First time i tried it out i shot a wolf and it exploded. The second time i shot another wolf and it froze. I though "hmm this thing either freezes or explodes my enemy. awesome".

Then i shot a bear and it turned into a sweet roll.

At this point i was shooting everything i saw and laughing, but i got to a tough bandit chief. I shot him and.. he turned invisible.

At that point i put it away.

How is it a double standard?

One is disliking an entire game for a single NPC, another is buying a game for multiple reasons including an NPC.

I'd agree with you if I thought anyone would literally buy the game just to look at a dragon, but anybody who did that must be terribly misinformed.

I have found Skyrim to be a step down from Oblivion in a few ways:

- No athletics or acrobatics. Really, I want to run faster and jump further as I progress in the game.

- The character creator is worse than the one in Oblivion (which was pretty bad too)

- The UI is ugly compared to the one in Oblivion. It looks like it just has a white/gray frame.

- The UI was designed for looks (that's a failed attempt) rather than functionality. You can't sort your inventory, you can't view your character when equipping stuff.

- Oblivion performs better at it's worst than Skyrim does at it's worst, both compared on the PS3.

Well, there are a few and I know there are more because I have read about them on the Bethesda forums. What say you?
never really cared for those skills and really I don't care about the other stuff oblivion was broken and fun and skyrim is less broken and fun I have fun with both and don't care which is better (different strokes for different folks)

That seems to be the main reason people loved Skyrim before it came out and it still seems to be the main reason since so many people put emphasis on DRAGONS.

Spyro had dragons, Final Fantasy had dragons, Dragon Age had a dragon or two, Chrono Cross had dragons (and a better soundtrack), etc... The gaming world has almost as many dragons as it does zombies so forgive me if I think that dragons aren't that important.

Morrowind has fucking RATS! Why there is even a quest where you have to clear the rats out of the pillow ladies attic.

I found it ridiculous to be able to run faster than horses and jump over mountains, i'm glad they're gone. If you want to run faster, where light armor or use werewolf form.

- The character creator is worse than the one in Oblivion (which was pretty bad too)

How is it worse than Oblivion's? it's practically the same just with more features.

- The UI is ugly compared to the one in Oblivion. It looks like it just has a white/gray frame.

I personally like the new UI, my only problem with it is that there is no option to see your character in 3D, but even if i had a problem with it, UI mods can fix that.

- The UI was designed for looks (that's a failed attempt) rather than functionality. You can't sort your inventory, you can't view your character when equipping stuff.

I find nothing wrong with the UI on PC i think it works well, but the fact that you can't view your character is a large flaw, they should add a button you can press to swap it from items to your character

- Oblivion performs better at it's worst than Skyrim does at it's worst, both compared on the PS3.

This is probably because i play on PC but i find that Skyrim performs better.

I'm just waiting for the All the DLC Edition, which will also be the All of the Patches version, and the Unofficial Official Patch That Fixes Everything the Official Patches Missed version.

Pretty much par for the course for open world Bethesda games at this point, for me and quite a few others.

Which is really bad for Bethesda themselves, as they're losing out on initial sales and their profits are going to be worse for quite some time (a problem with the DLC model).

The series seems to be toning itself down from Daggerfall, each game has become more streamlined, which seems to benefit the game slightly, albeit while losing some good parts too. Now that they have put out their 7th game, if you don't count all the mobile phone games, it is time for them to find an new IP. Lets let this franchise not become like COD.

Just a bunch of presets. Most of which suck.
There are preset looks, but you can manually tweak a lot of the facial options when creating a character. You must have missed that.
